Yeah, I'll try that. And the hubs won't be dockable. I'll just have a rumor or part of the updated infocard saying that Freeport XV ships in alot of food from the nearby biodome hubs via shuttles.

BTW, we need a topic split as this is off-topic.

can we get the hubs on a different circle than the standard plane?

please, please, please?

because...it is a three dimensional world, you know.

(respectfully posting while waiting for a split....)

There will be 4 different hubs. Two will be off the normal plane, but only by a few kilometers. And if you think I don't use the 3D aspect of the game, you haven't seen Omicron-74 yet.:P

Livadia Shipyards is over a dozen km above the plane, and Sparta and Corinth (sister stations right next to each other) are a few km below the plane. Omicron-64 will be using as much up and down, as it does across, but it isn't done yet.

and...that's just wonderfull...
off by a few kilometers?
how far away from the freeport are the hubs gonna be?
and....not to nitpick, or suggest more work....but, why not 6? make it look more circular.

Because Freeport XV originally had 16 biodomes. This is a refit job, not an add-on job, so they wouldn't be making many more (just the four more connected directly to the freeport).

i keep coming back to this idea for Mon'Star.

if we could stay on topic this time :$

-would it be possible for a single player to own a base?
-the trick with that would be who would be able to dock there?

-how much would it cost?
-i would personally like to have it in an existing system tucked in a secret place or hard to get to. so no new system cost. just the base.....but i guess you'd have to do some serious modding of an existing system.

and like i said before it could turn out to be a case of...if i get one everyone would want one. i think that is the biggest hurdle against the idea

People don't get that far to customize a base's output regarding which player can dock and who not. You can however your own base per infocard (pretty lame excuse, eh?)

As for the cost, around 500-850 mill base cost should do the job, extra gimmicks cost more.:P

horribly against.
Because....its unfreelancer ish, and.....well, probably cant be done without making the player his own faction, and it all just sounds redicoulus to me....

Hummm... I will come with an idea:

Maybe instead of a base, you could be able to buy a BATTLESHIP

I'm not saying the ones you buy for you, as a capital ship, but a battleship as a fixed base for solo players.

Then, there could be a fixed system with lots of battleships of many kinds (preferably the civilian ones) where you can "purchase" one for an amount of money.

Then, after purchasing, you could ask an Admin for the battleship to be "moved" to a certain location (e.g. California System Sector 4F, just an example). IF they agree (it fits the rp, the system is not too much overcrowded, etc.) it could be done.

There could be some requirements like:

- You must be playing on the server actively for the last X months.
- You cannot have more than X Sanctions in the last X months.
- Your battleship can be moved at a maximum of X times a month.

Battleship bases, IMHO, would be pretty easier to implement than standard bases and be pretty more flexible.
