' Wrote:Those ships will finally take the Eagle out of the ooRP pot. (and they SHOULD ONLY BE USED BY LAWFUL FORCES)
What the hell are you talking about? First, the CTE shipline was never exclusively lawful (see also: vanilla Xeno hawks), so by obvious extension, there's not much reason for these to be.
In fact, one of the major benefits of the idea is that it'd give another in-RP ship choice to small pirate groups like the Xenos and LWB.
Forget it. I don't want to start this on how ooRP the CTE is... Those should be only for lawfuls. Leave the old Eagle for unlawful groups like the ones you mentioned.
CTE is house civilian line. Becouse most of the house space are controlled by lawfuls it quite normal to see it as more lawful used ship
BW is non house civilian line. But since in the bw and edge worlds are mostly unlawful groups it looks like unlawful one.
Besides. "I think it should be like this" do not overspits vanila lore. And that means, CTE are widely used by lawfuls and unlawfuls. Even texturing them in house skin, won't prevent usage of them by Gaians, GC, Xenos or LWB
These ships were probably the only thing I was looking forward to in 4.86.
They may only be to look pretty, but it makes a huge difference. I'm sick of the boring old Eagle, and it's not like we Civvy-aligned people have much choice.
And these ships aren't even the phallic bullcrap we're used to from jinx, they are nice ships.
Shame the haters are the dev team eh? Cause something so insignificant to you makes a whole lot of difference to people who'd like a little variety.
Eff Gallia right up it's metaphorical arse, I'm here to have fun and fly nice, pretty ships for killing things. These ships are a grand addition, widely used by alot of factions.
' Wrote:I'd still like to hear why exactly they won't be added. Clearly much of the community appreciates these ships, and would like to fly them in-game. So what is the reason you don't want 'em added?
Wanted to re-post my PM, but didn't save it, so I'll try to replicate it again:
These ships are made by
1. Taking eagle and removing the engine and fins
2. Putting house tail on it
3. Putting house texture on it
4. Using Eagle hitbox even though it doesn't fit
=> Kitbash without working hitbox
We are rejecting many other models because of quality issues and unfinished parts (like hitbox, texture issues etc), it's then rather hard to accept these.
Quality > Quantity
There are quite a lot of civilian ships that can use a re-model - Dacite, Touketsu, RT, Virage, possibly Stinger.
These should be the priority before we add any new ships.
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
If there are model/hitbox issues then I should have been informed.
Can't expect me to rectify these things if no one tells me there is an issue :|
If there are any specific things wrong with the mesh, point them out to me. I spent a lot of time working on getting these models and I have not encountered any problems in the mesh that I have not fixed. It's actually quite hard to make working kitbashes :|
As for the hitboxes I can make some when I have time. The reason I left them as eagle/falcon hitboxes was because I wanted them all to be equal in terms of balance so that one was not chosen over the other for PvP purposes.
But if the hitboxes are not working then I'll make new ones.
' Wrote:How can the same ship with different paint jobs boast different stats? It's an Eagle, it will always be an Eagle. Your paint job doesn't change that.
And to replace the engine would be to degrade its performance. It's fitted with the best engine to suit it, which means any other one would be less efficient.
If you want something that isn't boring and vanilla, don't get a vanilla ship.
And personally, I don't find it boring and vanilla at all.
It also doesn't have vanilla stats already, so there is your variance.

methinks you oughta look into the cruising circuit. they play with cars, painting them different colours, shiny alloys have been proven to make a car go a little bit faster, and they get the girls you know...
the average male likes cars, and is mechanically minded, hence these car-modding clubs. the average male likes computer games... the confluence of markets is apparent here.
however, there is no point. car-modders tinker with cars to attract girls. in RL. this is a game, and i really don't recommend hanging around erie in a pimped out eagle, cybering every starflea with a female sounding name... der be pee-doh's about. how mahy girls play this game? a few. how many guys have female chars? a lot more.
