I understand your reasoning Mista, but take into account that those are fighters. Would that suggest that the corsiar ships should have large horizontal wings like the Titan? Fighters need aerodynamics to achieve the lift ability that the capital ships use thrusters for which is also the reason that a fighter would tear up a capital ship with ease within an atmosphere.
I have seen some models that use "wings", they become a ROYAL pain when passing thru asteroids and such as even the pebbles will spin you or stop you dead in your tracks.
This is what happened, if you put the dynamic design of a speed boat and the demands to a gunboat together:
Even if it doesn't look freelancerish, the design promises speed and agility. Defintive a ship BH would fly.
Another way would be to use the Rogue Gunboat as BH GB as soon as the Rogues got a new one.
So th Bh ships will look relative.

Great minds think alike. Thats very similar to what I was thinking in my concept stuff. Hardly seems worth the effort now haha.
I still think vertical wings would lok good on it, Maybe a set comming up from the top and down from the bottom of each engine pod. But with more forward reach as opposed to adding much height to the ship.
It looks alright, I'm not too sure about it personally, but again that's me being pernickety.
The ship I was going to put forward as a BHG Capital was this one:
Taken from the game Heagemonia. It's was the Human Corvette (equivalent to a gunboat). Unfortunately, despite initial aperances the models absolutely wrecked. There's no way I could port this to FL as is. And I'm not skilled enough/haven't found an alternative method of removing the extra polys. Just now it's sitting at around 15,000, it's supposed to be a tenth of that...
I'm doing some asking around of Haeg modders if they've got better tools than the one Used to get this onto Max, but I'll be honest it doesn't look promising...
NO. no wings on cap ships. Plus that is one of the ugliest ships i've ever seen. i can see why you think it would work as a bhg ship, but it really wouldn't fit into freelancer.
Why, because you couldn't pilot it through an asteroid feild? For gameplay reasons or for aesthietic reasons? Come on, if you're going to tell me you hate it, tell me why...

No matter, it is an excellent design. I think it would fit more in the BHG arsenal if the skin was a bit more rusted... like the BH Destroyer. Now that would look excellent - would be proud to own one of those...
