Ive got work to do and are not supposed to be here, but on my OSC Liner, most of the times i get pirated for 5m, that takes away all the profit.
And if i even try to haggle or say its unreasonable, they call for their lolwutters to destroy my liner.
Should have screenied it and posted it on the forums.
Unreasonable Demands? Isn't it more like PvP-Abuse than Piracy?
Sure, if you see a Mining Ship with BMM ID and IFF, go ahead and ask 5 million (Although that might not be 'Nice', but is not 'Unreasonable' either) But when you ask an amount from someone that You know he might not have, It sounds more like "Oh time to get another Blue msg" to me. I've pirated Rhinos myself, but not for credits. I've either made up some RP Demands or asked them to drop some 10 or so of their Cargo.
As I've said before: Going on your Pirate char to make Cash is just wrong. Pirate ID is there to provide RP possibilities, not filling your bank account.
(Still, even making money from Reasonable Demands is alright in my book.)
Pirates overcharge traders, traders get pissed off and become pirates to overcharge other traders because they think pirating actually makes any money. The ratio of traders to pirates increases in the pirates' favour, since people think they can fund their cap ships by pirating. In the end, there won't be any traders left, just pirates.
But really, if a pirate makes an unreasonable demand, he/she is either stupid or just looking for an excuse to blow somethign up. They seem to forget the golden rule of pirating - the less you ask for the mroe likely you'll get paid.
Quote:I do this with my character, Evader, ONLY because he is going mad in his experiments, and LOVES killing, so, in RP, it's justified. He does have the "credits or die" formula. By the way, I think you are talking about me in your first post because 500k is one of setmsg (also my lowest). And Rhinos are my second favorite target (Dromedaries are my first, they explode VERY easily and nicely, espiacially with a SNAC breaking their shields)
I don't care how much "RP Justification" you -THINK- you have, but you're sure as hell not going to kill newbies.

Honestly, That just seems like something someone who's only after the Blue Message would say. I've seen you before, You're an Outcast if memory serves. Consider yourself a priority target for my Mercenary. I don't like it when people pick on the little guys and I will -NOT- stand for some PvPWhore trying to get easy kills from new players.
' Wrote:Demanding more credits than the ship of a freighter-trader is worth is bad form and the lowest level a pirate can drop to.
I call this a 1.2 violation. I consider it very poor taste to pirate for more than a ship makes in profit from a single run, but pirating from an underlevel or a freighter is just stupid. Report him.

get lost.
Unreasonable demands are getting more and more annoying. I fly without cargo in my train and what. Pirate demands 2 000 000 credits from me:angry:

Happends everytime.
I know how you feel, I fly a Zoner Guard trader. I get hit hard by the "oh so awesome role-players".

It really is.
3 years ago there were "too many pirates traders will die out" topics. They haven't.
To be honest, there are more pirates and less traders than three years ago. Deny it if you will, but it is true.
On topic, the Administration needs to bring the excessive demand is PVP abuse back.
Oh look, its this conversation again. I've been here a month and Ive already seen this enough to be sick of it. If its not worth it get blown up, you take a hit on profits. If its reasonable or in the range of reasonable, just freakin pay, even if it means you have to do one more run to make up for the lost cash.
3 years ago there was 50 less people active online, so nah... Not more traders than pirates. Their ratio maybe turned around, but that all would be fixed if some of things I have in mind would be implemented.
