Whats the problem of some people using civilians pewsticks over their factions guns? Faction members using Codenames over their own guns aren't a problem either no?
Also, official factions can be asked to restict the use of these guns for their members, or simply make them white/red on the tech chart, at least for the military factions.
Some usage by factions is definitely not a problem, it's many people from a faction dropping their guns that would be a problem. Official faction restriction is not the way to deal with that.
The usage of codes is somewhat limited by their availability and exorbitant prices. What will happen when such an item gets sold on every other civilian base and its price is a few hundred thousand credits? Also notice that there is no 700ms 4.0 code, they are usually in the more obscure categories. For a reason.

No, Not really. I suggest you go to This Page and sort it by H dps, then scroll down the list. The lowest 6 are Pulse Guns, obvious. The Next two are MkI Class 9s or whatever, and their MkII Class 9s are much better... Oh and Look! Next one is Flashpoint! And you tell me Flashpoint doesn't suck?
Also, The GMG Pilot using the Civi Refire 4.00 instead of the GMG Banana Thrower would still have a disadvantage against an Outcast with Krakens, because his guns are not As good. See my point? Some people are good with High refire guns... Hell, even a GMG| dude flying a Banana-Eagle nearly raped my Kraken-Eagle, because he was Damn good with High Refire Photon Guns... But not many are like that. I, for one, prefer Lower Refire guns... So, ye, I'd go with Refire 4.00 Civi guns on my GMG if there were any, but that guy wouldn't. Why? Because High refire works well for him! (I even know some who fly Flashpoint Eagles and Do pretty good with them. So your point is Completely irrelevant.)
P.S: Many, Many, Many, Faction Players already use Codenames... Why is not That a problem, but using Civi Guns would be?
A GMG Heavy Fighter using Civi Refire 4.00s instead of GMG Guns, is just like a GMG Eagle using Codies instead of GMG Guns!

Dude, HOW can you compare different refire types with each other? It depends on the person that is going to use them and their own abilities to use said weapon.
I don't use Excaliburs, Ragnaroks etc. etc. because I just can't use 2.0 weapons, even if the Excals do 1390 damage I still DON'T use them. You can't possibly say "We cant implement them and if we do, they have to be worse then every faction weapon from every refire type."
That just makes no sense in every meaning of it, don't you see it?
The sentence about "suck" was meant about the new civilian guns. I agree that current Flashpoint sucks and has room for improvment without going against my points.

It is possible to roughly compare different refire guns. It is attempted every time any guns are balanced in Disco. Of course I agree that the actual performance very much depends on the pilot's preference, but when it gets so that people switch just because "it's better" and the ones still using factin guns are only those who simply love their faction gun refire or who just want to be fully inRP over PvP performance, something is wrong.
I'm not saying Civilian guns need to be much worse, just somewhat is enough.

That is a very good point and I will think about it, but it still doesn't solve the issue I feel about flocks of GMG discarding their own guns.
Edit: GMG is just an example brought by you, this isn't just about GMG. If the GMG guns are horribly bad, though, there's a good chance that can be helped. That was my step 1).
' Wrote:From those faction weapons that you mentioned, the Salamancas do 530 damage, the Trefoils do 580 damage, Order Reapers do 560 damage (Disinfectors, mind you, have 520 damage and low speed but are very energy efficient). They have sucky speed yes, but, they do quite some damage. And when you compare that to Phoenixes which are currently the only 4.0 weapons available to anyone (note that they are codenames and hence expensive even if they suck), and when you take the fact that Phoenixes only do 500 damage with 625 speed, how is that balanced? Please tell me.
Have you ever used them? Phoenixes have a big projectile and are very energy efficient. Plus, they sync better with 650 debs than 600 m/s guns.
But yeah, back to the topic, I'd love having more variety in that department.

The question is have you ever used them? Try putting Phoenixes and going against a Hellflurry sabre, we'll see what happens. Refire 4.0 weapons should not have both low damage and low speed, that is called UNBALLANCED, or do you not understand this?
Oh and did I mention the fact that you can only put 4 of them on?
