I think it's the opposite of a hobby or recreational freetime.
Isn't it that thing I do to make ends meet, 5 days a week?
Oh yeah.... work.
Riddle me this: How else would it be? You think freelancing and bounty hunting comes cheap in real life? Maybe that is the issue. Any moron can deviate 30 mil to a new fighter, an hour to write up a tech request, then the rest of the week to kill anything that moves. That's not how it should be.
And this is the flaw with mercing. It's too simple. Trading takes time and effort. The monotonous grind.
In a way, mercing is like playing house as a kid:
"Well, today I was an astronaut, got bored and became a lawyer, then ended the day as a cowboy."
There needs to be contracts. There needs to be deals and agreements. Complicating things makes this more believable.
Now I know what you're going to say: It's a game, it shouldn't be complicated!
Yeah. True. But it's also supposed to be fun. If people simply bounty me 'because they can' and any moron with a merc ID, a Sabre, and codies can shoot me down, then something is VERY wrong.
"THE HULL HAS BEEN BREACHED AND THESCIENCEIS LEAKING OUT!"
I believe the purposed BH ID change is in need of a slight remodeling. BH's original intent was to provide a line of work for those who are tired of the red tape excuses that the Cops are using to preach their tartyness in a crime seen or sting type of senario. These people spend every waking day livin on the edge of life and death defending the higher powers (like big corperations) from bein int he spot light from a person or group that is indangering there way of business. those are my thoughs and personal opinions of the BH's founding beleifs.
You know, in relation to really pushing reputation to how it should be (as should be, of course), a command to go fully red with a faction would be greatly useful and seemingly very easy to do. Being able to go, say, /hostile bmm to repfix would be wonderful and stop weirdness arising from multiple npc killings. Only make it applicable in space and I think it wouldn't even cause issues.

It seems this system would help with that compared to how things have been. The Guild as a whole could arrange contracts with all the governments (as things were in vanilla and all) and many corporations.
Quote:Players must be hostile to the faction they are targetting in a bounty. This does not apply to assassination missions where the target is a single character.
I have about... 7 Reaver Mercenary characters, am I required to keep all seven character reputations in line every time our reputation shifts? Am I not trusted to stay off the bases of the dudes I'm shooting? Or am I allowed to simply CD the friendly NPCs of a target when I engage?

9. There are no anonymous bounties. Administrators may post bounties on behalf of people wishing to remain anonymous and may request that persons sponsoring bounties identify themselves to Administrators.
Comment: This is pretty straightforward.
12. You may only collect on a bounty which you have sponsored or funded (fully or partly) so long as it is open to others to collect.
Comment: Self-explanatory.
Yes, no, I do not understand.
Explain with a situation, both rule 9 and 12 please?

Unreasonable demand rule has been brought back? Define please.

If you charge someone 100 million credits, Hoodlum will eat your first born child.
9 does make no sense. 12 is simple.
12. You cannot post a bounty on the forums where only you (and a small number of people you probably know) can collect. It is seen as an excuse to kill a specific persons without justification.
I am so happy to be a pacifist !, There will always be dog fight around , but don't count me in, its not my thing.
Note that i oppose the fact that this game is set in a ''violent'' background (who want their children to grow here)?
Will this reduce the blanket bounty ? I mean areas with over populated bounty hunter just make it a pain for countless Indies.
I kind of agree with the new system but I am anxious of its relative efficiency.
Thumb up for the effort,
