The reason people poked holes in this plan, is to show that it HAD holes. This is a very heavy-RP server, and your faction is completely pvp-oriented. That doesn't fit here in Disco, and two things were going to happen if you tried making this a faction. 1.) You'd have been flamed for being out of RP, and you'd be flamed for being pvp whores (our term for people who pvp and have absolutely no RP backing) and 2.) You, your members, and possibly your faction would have been fined for being out-of-RP, pvp-whoring, etc.
Before making a faction here, definitely think of a very elaborate and well-thought out RP history that does more than just give you a right to pvp-whore.
I realise some of the more established players are trying to protect their community from a dillution of its core themes & directions. But does there need to be such casual rudeness to prove your point?
Avian: If you want, I'd be willing to help you flesh out "The Chosen" and turn them into a viable faction. I already have a few ideas - none concrete, none awesome, but just maybe we can all put our heads together and get something positive out of this. It will take time, though, as any faction of this sort will need a well thought-out backstory and motives. I do think the idea has some potential, though. You might post what you have so far in a new thread somewhere to get people's input on how to make this into a fully 3-dimensional, RP-compatible faction.
In the meantime, you're totally welcome to join any faction you want!
To get your rep aligned with Xenos, I'd recommend talking with a user named "WidoW" who has a Xeno-aligned gunboat as I recall. Or Doom, who is also has a Xeno char.
EDIT: I'm not saying I'd want to join this faction if it ever becomes reality, because I probably wouldn't. I don't much like Xenos. But I do enjoy a mental challenge, and writing a backstory and _believable_ motivations and history for something like this is exactly that.
I second that; sorry I forgot about 'em, Blunt. =P The SCRA is against all four Houses, and pretty much every established organization. I think. Close?
Think i'll just put the idea in the bin... got thousands more and clearing the head might be a good idea. :DAfter looking at the pages and pages of factions i can start to understand the reaction a little better.
Take your time looking at them and find one that suits you. And don't get distracted by the pretty banners either... those without them are still good.:D
Well after a brief look around me and mine thought there were way too many police and military factions and it was time someone got down to giving them something to do. We did want to make a police faction as well called the "SSF" after we saw there was an "SF" faction, that sort of went out the window. Anyway if anyone wants to chat ingame my main at the moment is Avian_Archon. It'll be the one getting killed by admin every 30 secs. :D
You are always welcome among the Hogosha! I have seen your Chosen ships in game, and I have to say you have done a good job RP'ing so far.
Come on guys, I want to keep things going well in Disco as well, but that kind of reaction wasn't totally necessary. He just needed some guidance, we have lost too many really good players thanks to talk like this. Just try to be a little more friendly with new players. You can still be firm, just use a more friendly tone!
