You escape into the oorp pvp system and thank your lucky stars to have done so because your "RP" situation was being disrupted?
What in the heckfire?
This isn't a static environment. Just because you're engaged in a soliloquy doesn't burden your would be attacker with the responsibility to wait on your permission to trespass upon your person.
Pretty fast answer for some one who was not even involved. And as I *understand* the rules, since I DID manage to make the jump out of system reguardless of where I went that means I escaped and they should not have continued to persue as they did. Maybe I am mistaken on that part.
THE POINT IS: The RP involved was disrupted by some one making NO effort to get involved in what was obvious and involved RP with several others in that area. That the Merc in question is not one I can find listed on ANY of the current Lawful Bounty lists, since if I understand the rules for it, they HAVE to meet a set of requirements before they can even begin to start looking for some one to attack. Bounty on my charatcer or not, as I undestand it, they still have to meet certain requirements.
I am SUGGESTING a few ammendments, not that the entire system be thrown out the window.
And as matter as fact, it was your post I read, Dusty, that says your MercNet is down, that it took too much of your time and effort to continue with or something of that nature.
Involved? I'm simply going off of what you reported.
Goodness. If you think the person in question was acting in violation of the rules then do report it. Though my retort was largely orientated towards pointing out the flaws in your reasoning, and conduct I might add with a huff, that the bounty rules need to be adjusted in order to protect those amongst us who're engaged in some manner of pontification or otherwise sacred acts of this and that.
I recall DSE once demanding protection during one of their "mining events", where persons who weren't invited... Namely pirates... Were requested to be removed.
I see no reason to adjust the bounty rules to extend any such protection.
Though I don't see what mercnet has to do with this thread? As you observed it's been down for several months.
But, really, if you have screens and names report them. The sooner the better.
Then you do not understand and not likely going to. I've had my say. I still believe there is more than can or should be done to further promote that this is a RP Server not a PvP server.
If thats too much, then just wipe everything I have said.

Stop trying to divide it into two different categories and accept the fact that every action you conduct on the server, if you are doing it from your character's perspective, is playing a part of your role. Trying to value some actions above others is just your attempt to make yourself look better in terms of others. Also known as comparing RP and PvP as two separate things and denouncing one side whilst highlighting the other. It's a complete waste and utterly trivial when it comes to talking about playing your character. Who are you to tell me or anyone else what is considered good or bad Role-Play.
You play your role, you do your part. Fighting, talking, it's all the same. Nothing is better than the other.

And those who were there know who you are. You disrupted on going RP in favor of your damn pew pew. Hell, even then I was persued AND attacked in that system, where as far as I *know* RP is not part of before I was able to dock and logged off.

Two comments that show you don't understand the rules as they are, and you're here trying to amend them...
One, as the link aerelm gave shows, you cannot use Connecticut to escape from an RP situation.
Two, you fleeing one system doesn't mean your pursuers have to give up. They can follow you through that jumphole just as easily as you fled through it, and have every right to blow you to hell on the other side.
Perhaps you should get a better understanding of the current rules before proposing new or revised ones.
