Smuggy ID, OC IFF or joining OC faction if they want to be official and creating wing for smuggling..

Or we could just loose the pointless rule.

It was put in place to avoid civil wars; you can see how well that turned out, like there was even a need for it..

If people are determined to do something, nothing is going to stop them. All the rule is currently doing is putting a cap on 'official' RP.

The rule is in place to prevent the continuation of the problem.

The rule isn't pointless, it makes sense. It should have been enacted sooner.

Yes, I am aware there are a few factions that the rule makes no sense for, however, adjustments can be made for them.

Well, when some people screw up, we all pay for it?
Personally I don't mind being unofficial/indie, probably because I'm not planning to lead any of my factions to their great destiny as their rightful leader, nor am I trying to give random people tech permissions. Sure being official makes some people actually listen to you. (In case of [RM]) but it's no biggie. Finnegan proved indies got what it takes by getting the first Spyglass as an indie character. Hooray for that dude!

the junkers will have the most problems with this, if the zoners are anything to go by.

As it stands now the "ministry" that the Outcasts used to have has been dissolved which leaves the entire Outcast nation in the hands of the 101st, both OORP-wise and INRP-wise.

... so yes, I suppose that might lead to discussions of shedding the "Maltese navy" archetype and embrace sub-divisions who might be interested in doing other things. (But as Ceoran pointed out: There's not much of a point in trading cardamine until the routes gets buffed.)
