I will not argue anymore,it is pointless. Screw the server how you want, make it faction lancer. I am done giving a rats butt.
Actually purpose of this proposal is to attract people to join official factions, so if you want profit, you'll get it by joining one of factions.
As someone with all indies (yes I have an Order|. Its a trial, not full membership) I dont like this.
Yes, faction LEADERS put alot of work. Yes, admins do.
But if they get extra income, we all should.
Offical factions shouldnt get better treatment and benefits just because someone said "yes" to an app and has a pretty tag.
Thats my stance.
An addition to my earlier post: these profits/rewards would be solely dispensed by the Faction leader, or perhaps even the Admins.
I wouldn't give someone the reward just because they're in my faction. I might, perhaps, give it to the top three most active faction members.
Edit in repsonse to the post below:
Having that money to pay bounties, set up shared ships, and so on would be really beneficial, and would take a lot of pressure off a Faction's usual bank.
Echo's idea sounds very good. These founds wouldn't be used for personal gain, rather in constructive ways, as mentioned in the OP: paying bounties, building shared ships, funding contracts and so on.
Admin regulation would be like an extra warranty, but I highly doubt it will be needed,
You know. Indies could... *GASP* actually join a faction if they're so concerned over a feature? I mean, honestly, Most of the factions accept people who show a modicum of Roleplay ability. Naturally, some factions like the SCRA, Keepers, and Phantoms, who have a lot of freedom are much more selective of who they choose, but most factions aren't as picky you know.
This idea would definitely help factions out by providing us with a financial menas to RP with, especially trading factions, whoi could then spend more time bargaining, trading and interacting with other factions instead of trying to pay salaries or raise money for bounties and such. The same would be true of house navies and police, who would no longer have to rely on donations for their bounty boards.
