BIG edit: Most of the people are thinking about positive things about disco right now, since it's our current server birthday, however I think we should look at the biggest problems as well, to make sure that in further years they'll be solved.

No disco ain't so fun as it should be, to many people out to ruin some one else their day.

QQ moar please. Jinx hit the nail on the head as to why most of what we do as players isn't added into the mod as canon lore.

I swear to god I haven't laughed so hard in months.

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

Tsk, we players can do whatever we can ingame, demolish destroy invade and whatnot, but the outcome will ALWAYS be decided by very few folks, usually ignoring ingame reality but plotting some story nobody knows about, cares about or wishes to happen.

Go us I say.

So, if 50 guys decide to make a... junker and PvP all around killing everyone, junkers would be masters of the universe? Invading, demolishing, and whatnot are all things decided mostly by numbers of allies or skills, and it doesn't matter if it makes sense or not.

The examples that Jinx posted here, instead, are taken into account, because, no matter the numbers of people, or their skills in combat, it makes some sense and it fits, or could fit, Disco.

EDIT: Those 50 guys could just make a Hogosha the next day, kill everything out there, and they should be the new masters of the universe, and everything should be re-writen. Oh, didn't we have those already?

All those who complain about the mod "not following server reality" should read the below a couple of times and think about it.

It's the main reason why the players are not allowed to contribute just anything. Because so called "server realities" are usually ludicrous and unbelievable, and they shift constantly as the player population gets bored of a faction and moves onto the next. Just because one faction has more players does not mean it should be then getting more and more and more in the next releases because that will lead to a feedback loop, and eventually all the people that complain the mod does not change based on player actions will then complain that a faction is far too overpowered and there are "ganks".

The other reason is that this is mainly Igiss's story, and hence will follow his script. We're allowed to suggest and contribute things as long as they are sensible (and 99% of player suggestions aren't, not even in the slightest).

So there you go. How many more threads will we have on this, or is it so hard to consider the whole picture? If you want a completely freeform universe, have a go at EVE online and see what it is like.

As to the thread title: to me the truth is not "sad" at all. In fact, I wouldn't have it any other way. The one thing that we could improve organisationally is frequency of releases, and that's about all.

Playing here is a privilege, not a right. It would be in a dictatorship if it was a right.
