I could also suggest trying to create Bretonia Intelligence faction. They don't have official faction and the current one, which requested official status are totally inactive. So you could divert your creativity and fill in that spot. Thus attracting more players due to being even more different from BAF|

Good suggestion, hadn't thought of that, we'll tho how this pans out in the next couple of weeks. No rush, we aren't going anywhere.
You put effort in that, you can tell that. However, consider this (someone might have suggested this, I only read the op, not the replies).
Merging with BAF. I know you have your reasons to do otherwise. However, Dieter is a very reasonable guy and I'm sure he'll be open to your ideas. This way, it could help both factions in many, many ways.
I very much like the idea of having stricter military RP in the Bretonian military, but I very strongly suggest that any and all space based Bretonian combat be part of the BAF for two reasons
1. RP- The BAF stands for "Bretonian Armed Forces" and is a merger or both planet and space based combat operations. All the members of the BAF in Disco are esentially RPing only the space based part of the BAF, but that doesn't mean that the BAF doesn't have ground and atmospheric based forces.
2. Having two diffrent Bretonian military groups would cut down on organizations in a time when Bretonia really needs organization.
That being said, I DO think you bring up some good points, and I have a few ideas for what you can do in the future:
Firstly, the BAF command structure is crazy. I could spend three years trying to decypher who commands who and I STILL wouldn't get it. A more rigid and simplified command system could be really helpful. I also like the idea of individual "regiment" identities, as that adds both an aspect of friendly competition and some amazing opportunities for RP and character development (basically "Anglican Regiment" has alot more RP possibilities than "Fleet 7")
Secondly, I think the ground-based aspect of the BAF is highly underrated, and almost forgotten. What I liked about this idea is that it reminded people that the fighting doesn't just take place in space. I think it would be great for members of the BAF to organize a set of "characters" that don't nessicaraly have much to do with the in game workings of discovery, but rather serve to tell InRP stories on the forum about the trials and actions of the ground based arm of the BAF.
I sincerly hope that you consider my advice and work to make the existing BAF a better, more RP oriented organization.
Edit: I really like the idea of a territorial army and this idea should definitely be implemented into the BAF.
