Problem

People will stop storing money on their combat ships or ships likely to blow up. You can't remove cash from an already empty hold. Instead they'll make multi billionaire Starfleas as banks. The current situation will persist.

Foiled.

Option to do is to have ship hull degraded everytime respawn is used.

For example -5% from total Ship Hull?

I just read the original post. I knew that would happen.

Ship system degradation is a better idea for calculating the exact amount of penalty according to the ship and equipment.

I don't care which system is used, both are good. All that matters is balancing it well so neither it's not even noticeable that you died in 5 systems within 5 minutes, nor making you quit the game, because the bills get over what you can endure in trading.

Why do you even wanna change it? Ganks will just get more often and i certainly don't wanna see that. It's fine as it is.

This has been suggested before a few times. Each time it was shot down. Why? It opens the opportunity for people to start to target players specifically and force them out of the game through credit starvation. OORP grieving other players rather then characters. That is why this kind of death penalty isn't in effect.

Personally I'd have opted for respawning with some 5% damage to all of your ship's systems (hull, turrets, shieldgen etc) which results in a hefty repair bill.
