I for one, am infuriated over these new laws. The idea of charging 3-5 Million credits for possession of weapons for sale is rediculous. What happened to free enterprise? And, by the way, is any of this money being allocated to the poor on Planet Denver, or the schools for better education for our children on Planet Manhattan? Or is it merely lining the pockets of the leaders of our "honorable" law forces? Where is this money being allocated to? While funds need to be procured to develop new weapons, fuel ships, etc., the needy are still receiving nothing. In my opinion, this tax is nothing more than legitimate piracy. Is anyone in the Liberty Law Enforcement field aware of the time and danger involved in the acquisition of these weapons? Do you have any idea how much hull repairs cost these days?
Now I'm not a weapons dealer, just a hard-working trader but as far as I'm concerned, if this new tax stays, the the next thing on the books is probably going to be a trade tax. "5,000 credits to bring that Luxury food to Manhattan, Trader." Wouldn't that be something?
I am eager to take part in this peaceful demonstration Simon, you can count on me being there. If at all possible, some advance notice would be great, as I have a full schedule and usually am not in Liberty. You can also contact Lane Security 003 via personal comm if you see him to give me updates on the time and date.
And another thing, Liberty Law Forces can be darn sure that Lane Security will NOT be policing this demonstration. The Law's got the big bucks now, I think we'll let them handle what they're getting paid to do.
