In order for Sirius to work there has to be a Standard Sirius Time or everyone's lives would be messed up. Sure, each planet would have it's own timeline but for a house spread over 5 solar systems there has to be a standard time. Wouldn't all our lives be easier if that SST would be the same as our timeline?

' Wrote:Why is everyone doing this... sarcasm!? I'd also waited now for years, but I don't understand, why being pessimistic would develope .86 faster?

Wait, what? .86 actually took 2 years to be developed. Don't get me wrong, I'm not Q_Q'ing about that but I see no reason to stop time.

Okey now that I have heard some insight on this Cock fight this what I'll say.

Game mechanics disallows various transitions that 85 lore and 86 lore presents. Hence why in-game 818AS is applies. However you can venture further from ingame stuff because YOUR RP doesn't matter anyway and RP any year you so desires. However Comms Channels are dependent on ingame activity thus roles the same as in game events. Thus all you billmonkeys RPing as 819 we'll just have to accept that RPing as 819 won't always been accepted. Just the same as 818as RPs being accepted.

Because the point is clear your RP means little to nothing compared to the lore. Which when the Lore changes to 86 will be at the start of 819. So suck on nova's and don't apply months to your years and you won't have to worry about what year it is.

To be honest, unless you're talking in the past tense, the date doesn't really matter. If you are talking in the past tense, then it's no problem. If you're talking in present tense, you can actually not worry about any dates by using words like "Today" and "This morning" or "This afternoon" or similar things. Game time probably moves slower than real time. That's why 819 came two real years after 818. As such, it's probably a dumb idea to apply dates to present tense if you want it to be consistent.

No, please, don't make the devs unnecessarily edit infocards. That would just delay 4.86 even further considering we're still writing brand new 4.86 infocards.

Personally, I just consider it around 818 AS. It's close enough for me.

There was a sig here, once.

Consider this: Trent took weeks to travel from bretonia to freeport 7 then to liberty. A player ingame can make that journey in an hour.

Discovery's current year is 818 A.S. The date changes with the release of new mod versions, not with real-time. It will be 819 A.S. when 4.86 goes live on the server, not before.
This.

Hmm...due the fact I always RPed this year in 819 A.S. I am a bit surprised now. Never thought about this before. But now...I configured all my chars, their age, to this date 819. Not much work to change that but I am still surprised. If .86 will play at the beginning of 819 then so be it. I think it would need more work to change the infocards to a year later than turning the time for the chars a year back.

and all the diplomatic stuff and wars and people who died in that year never happend?

819AS it is. forum and ingame.

its simply because .86 takes too long.

just change the .86 lore Igiss wrote @ forum to 820AS and some infocards.
