just read that thread - and .. while i dont add something to the discussion - maybe we can try not to make statements like these..
"but most human Corsairs in there are Indies and not role players." ( bulldognk )
i am sure you don t mean it the way it is written - but it suggests that there are two kinds of players. roleplayers ( good ) - and independents ( bad ). its ok when you say that there are people that dont roleplay ( no matter how they are organized ) and players that do roleplay. ( even if there are more indies that dont )
Recently my independent Corsair Trader (Tag and ID) was hauling arties to Hawaii. Then i requested from present KNF high rankings a permission to land on Honshu to load goods for FP 11. I even requested an escort so KNF can check my intention. I was hoping to bring in a bit RP within system chat between a Corsair and KNF officers, but i got the permission without been escorted to Honshu and Kumamoto JH.
I will do it again in the hope to enforce RP a bit. AFA and BD also might escort me.
Could everyone please note that there are a great number of great RPing indipendant Corsairs, some of which are better at it than the clans. The word "indipendant" is not synonymous with "bad RPer". It's just that their good name is let down by the rising tide of filth.
Heh, sure theres corsair npcs in honshu, but its where they are thats important. Those corsair npcs are hanging around the sigma 13 jh and jg and the sigma 17 jh, in gas clouds far away from kusari bases.
Now, the only problem with corsairs in kusari that I'd have is seeing them landing on kusari bases or using the tradelanes.
It doesn't matter how good the relations between the player factions are, the kusari police npcs still attack corsair npcs on sight.
If the corsair players hang around the gas clouds in honshu, then I have no problems with them. But any corsair players I see using tradelanes and landing on lawful bases in kusari will be screenied and reported.

And seeing that a Zoner just got busted at NT for artifacts, it seems a bit incongruous that a Corsair would be allowed to trade in em on the Capitol World, eh?
Also, what would you say to the IMG vs Corsair NPC's duking it out?
Sorry, just poking holes.
I agree with the not landing on bases part though. Perhaps not traders or smugglers, as they need to land to pick up goods. But combat ships not landing on bases is fine.
Then again, I am a bit more loose with RP rules and regulations than some others.

landing on lawful bases maybe, but come on is that how you like to spend your time? We have to stop this trend of reporting every little minor rule infraction. Come to think of it I don't even know what server rule a corsair player would be breaking by using the tradelanes in Kusari. Corsairs may have to meet with contacts in the Hogosha or Farmers Alliance, they may be attacking their enemy the Blood Dragons. Yes are there too many corsairs in Kusari, maybe (although it has been dropping dramatically in the last week or so), is the answer making a report to the admins everytime you see one there? I don't think so, I don't think it 's a good use of your time or a good use of the admins time.
' Wrote:i agree there, now as NovaPG and we see this happening we will actually will intervene and tell them to stop.
take for instance yesterday, We had an Indie blood dragon in Chugoku and taxing a Trader level 40 for 2 million credits, the trader said he could not afford the two million and the Indie started to kill him, Now as the Guard we asked him to hold fire while we speak to him, but the Indie killed him ignoring us,
i had no hesitation killing the Indie and paying compensation to the trader for his losses, Low Level for us is level 45 and when we pirate them we ask for cargo or 50k, the said trader is now 20 mill credits richer thanks to the NovaPG and the Indie stated he would not go against the NovaPG again.
The point i am trying to make is that if factions can sort their own Indies out then problems like this wont happen.
Cheers
Don't mean to drag the topic 'off topic' But isn't that a little ooRP in its own right, Tony? I mean, judging and taxing on server rank? Not on ID, ship cargo...ect...ect.
A trader is a trader...Pirates tax traders (No I wasn't the freelance pirate btw) Trades pay tax. If the trader wants to risk trading through pirate space, which he actually shouldn't be doing...and being 45 he could probably be taken down by the NPC's when red, so him not being taken down, suggests he is neutral, (Probably wrong, but Blood Dragon NPC's are neutral to pirate factions as new players)
And should just pay the price for pushing his luck with pirates lurking around.
And don't Blood Dragons consider themselves all brothers? A brother wouldn't kill another brother in this case. What is the good in it? He was doing his job....
Not that it really matters anymore.
Oh, btw...What is a valid reason exept Coppers reason for being in Kyushu taxing again?
Cheers:cool:

Sorry Mal. As i have written i was hauling Arties to Hawaii and not further. I requested permission to land on Honshu, when i was empty. So i entered Kusari space with empty cargo space. Notice the difference?:P
Personally i do prefer to enlarge the roleplay upon NPC behaviors. I'm not an NPC and i hate when my rp will be dictated by some bureaucrats.

Since my only kusari character is working on getting an NCC to join the KNF and I'll be basing that character off the nagumo or the nagasaki I don't expect to see any corsairs that far from honshu.
Therefore I don't expect to be sending in any reports whatsoever about corsairs in kusari.
