If you're in for some fun strategy, I recommend League of Legends, I like it. Though be warned, recently there's a high number of annoying cry babies playing it, but if you just ignore them they will rage on their own.
For a shooter, don't know many other than Battlefield Heroes, which was fun, for a while. But it's one of those "free-to-play" where most of the players pay for upgrades and will have an advantage over you, which can lead to rage, but if you're good enough then that shouldn't be a problem.

I was going to suggest that as well. The game has grown immensely in a short time frame and its pretty fun. About the crybabies and ragers, yeah, just ignore them. Every moba game has them, League of Legends is no exception to that.
I want to try black prophecy if someone have tried it and have idea how to play it PM me.

Getting a mining corporation and spending alot of time endlessly mining while training just mining skills from the start. Might not be the uber fancy I can own all PVP part, but makes you financially stable very quick.
