Other than having fun in a game what is the goal of this faction?
While I can see the logic in becoming Zoners because Zoners saved you and Zoners accept almost anyone who is willing to live by their code; I have to say that Zoners (at least in role play) wouldn't hand out all of their technology to your little group right off the bat - as you're unknown to them.
That is me thinking you're picking the Zoner ID so you can use Zoner cap ships; because that seems to be the cool thing to do for new factions. My suggestion would be if you don't intend to role play a Zoner - as you seem more leaning towards role playing a Latin disguised as a Zoner - grab a Freelancer ID and use the Zoner IFF.
This makes it clear you are not a Zoner, but you've strong relations to them. Open up communication with OSI, TAZ, CoF, Phoenix, any of the Zoner groups too.

'' Open up communication with OSI, TAZ, CoF, Phoenix, any of the Zoner groups too.'' This will be the first thing that I'll do. Thank you^^
Anyway I don't want to use a freelancer ID because of the limit of 3600 cargo space, while with a zoner ID we can still have 5000 cargo space with trasports if we dock in Freeports or other bases. I know I can't still access to all zoner technology. If we will need to access to Cap Ships, we'll ask a permission. But before I'll try to have a strong relations with the other Zoner factions and groups. We will play as Zoner and we will try to deserve the trust of the others.
Our goal it's simple, refounding our Republic, for the moment. And write a nice history about Latins:mellow:
Thinks of us as a group of refugees that has just been saved. We can only think about find a new prosperity and welfare.
Using the Zoner ID, per the rules, you've access to all Zoner technology and ships. My comment was about the role play side of it. I can't bar you from using a Zoner cap ship if you really want to do so - I will frown upon it and be grumpy about it though.
As for the founding of a Latin Republic - if this is the long term goal, understand that at some point you will have to ditch the Zoner ID for another. My suggestion for the Freelancer ID w/Zoner IFF was two fold - would a bunch of refugees such as yourselves really have the ability to field 5k transports? Doubtful.
A limit on your cargo hold size makes sense. Yes, I know the reason for wanting a 5k transport is to help fund the faction itself - but perhaps joining a trading faction an funneling the credits you make there here would be a wiser choice? Or perhaps joining a mining faction.
Yea - my suggestion then limits what you can do in game while on the RoL ships. I understand that. I'd suggest exploration for starters - you know nothing of Sirius or Gallia. Use of your medium transports for in role play trading (which can be profitable) - you know getting yourselves supplies and such. Of course killing the squids as they are the reason for your plight is also a good option. Other than that you can also fly around and meet other factions and collect information so your faction can begin to understand their new home. There is plenty for you to do - even without using 5k transports.
But I think the largest hole people are wondering about in your history is the connection back to Earth (Sol). Where were your people from? Why were they not on the Hispania if Italian or Liberty if American-Italian? Why the resurgence of the latin language and Roman culture?
Answer these questions in detail, and you'll have a good start.
Some first ideas that come to mind is a group of Catholic clergy or some such started the Latins...perhaps Latin was seen as a more pure language and one they would feasibly know.
If you're familiar with Jack Whyte, his Camulod story might be a good base as well. In that book, a group of Britons sees the end of the Roman Empire coming and established their own colony in southern Britain. They adhere to the discipline and military tradition of the Roman Empire (which had corroded in the Empire proper by then) but are governed by a civilian council. For RoL, this could be something like seeing the inevitable destruction the war on Earth would cause they left earlier, restructuring their society in the old ways of discipline and honor (a.k.a. Roman republic).

I think you are right. We still don't need 5k transports. We need to explore the new system too. I think we'll use a Freelancer ID. Anyway because we have lost all our technology, we will try access to a new technology. This may be an other goal. If a day we will have a strong diplomacy with zoner, and decide to have our Republic in the omicroners system, we will use a Zoner ID. What do you think about this decision?
