In reality not much has changed. I think the only thing you can do is change the angle at which you approach the game. For me, that's meant getting more and more involved with just two official factions (BHG and Wilde) and trying to organise long-term RP goals, and multiple events, that involve many different factions.
I still have a number of indies and factioned characters that I hop onto for kicks, but my main focus is now just the two mentioned above.
Point two, that probably is the problem, yes. None of the mindsets have really changed over the long years (although some of the clan-based actions that happened in early Discovery were really hilarious and happen no longer).
The mindset of the community probably won't change though, seeing as it's all made of people, and what we see as a result is a boiling pot of competing interests. Ergo, Q_Q.
Yeah, that's pretty much it. Most we can do is grin and bare it. All the same, for people like me, it becomes very taxing. I've been here for so long, and it feels pretty bad when everything feels so dull and cyclic. I still have fun... Just not as much as I did.
This was all my fault. Sorry mate when you called me a meatbag and a dead one at that,
my char couldnt resist the opportunity to make a poem and then return fire.
Like i said dont nose to nose a Mako when your in a cruiser..not gunna happen mate.

Oh it's not your fault, Waratah, I was asking for it in all honesty. Gave me a chance to see what all the hooplah was about with Turret Zoom/Steer and I really can't see the allure and draw to it...it's frakin' hard to do! Haha. No, it's not your fault, don't worry about it. This has been a thought I've been having for a long time.
Think I'll just stick to my smuggling, that's what makes me happy. Thanks for the kind words everyone, I've just been irritated as of late and wanted to vent a little bit. Not trying to bitch and moan, but needed to get it off my mind.

' Wrote:I found myself around new people...people who didn't understand my RP mindset. It was annoying to me, irritating, and most of all, frustrating. When I'd RP as [Nemesis], they'd just run straight at me guns blazing screaming their heads off. When I would try to hack their ship, they'd ignore it and just keep attacking me like nothing was going on. Like I wasn't RPing at all. Then .86 came out and everything went on it's head for me.
The nature of Discovery has changed with the large increase in the number of players we have. Unique roleplay like that is harder to pull off, and hacking other people's ships requires the other players' permission, and they are unlikely to give it to you considering the problem children on Disco that make others hesitant of trusting another player in that manner.
