when i report f1, i always try to have 2 screenshots, when is possible that on screen 1 is trader in front of me, not moving, with text where i ask for donation/tax, and when he press f1 i make another screen, the same position, but without trader with text: departing xxxxx.
so admins can see that i was not moving, he was not moving, but he is only gone, when is someone disconected from server his ship is moving away, when someone press f1 when he is not moving, he is just gone.
' Wrote:from what i know, F1 hitters are punished by removing all their credits. - thats about it then. when i play on Clover i get maybe 1 F1 guy / 3 days - but i m only really pirating untill i pirated 500k - once i got it, i log off - so its usually only one trader i do... .
anyway - there s no need to get mad at them much. if someone wants to F1, he is not interested in RP... one can simply ignore him. we re not playing to compete with others, but we play to RP with others... if the competitiveness isn t really the primary issue anymore, - you can fully enjoy the RP and don t need to think of the people that refuse to RP.
or in other words - take it easy.
I like this advice. F1ing is more of a letdown than anything else to me. Just an "oh well, better luck next time". Then again I've only had a few days pirating experience.
Took three or four of them down last week.
What you need is exactly whats mentioned above. One shot of you and him in the space where you tell him to stop or you're close to him and the second picture of him gone but your text still there.
Preferably when you take first picture try to catch his level so in case he transfers his cash to another character to save his money the long hand of the law can get him easy.
The only problem is that once or twice i've pirated someone on my GC character and they've appeared to have F1'ed and I get quite frustrated. Then several days later the same trader would come back online and be in Berlin or Kyushu etc and PM me apologising and saying his net went down. The trader then came to Ainu Depot and paid me double what I originally asked, saying he's sorry, that he's been having router problems etc.
So occasionally, you do get issues like this and its lucky for him that I don't like filing sanction reports unless they're extremely blatant and really taking the piss (read: re-engaging multiple times, totally OORP RP/tags/IDs/Ships/Weapons/docking). I prefer to explain try and explain to them in PM what they're doing wrong. Sometimes they listen, sometimes they don't. Win some, lose some.
I frequently find myself lagging out of the server because I have a slow computer (eight years old). On a few other occasions, my baby sister has walked up while I wasn't looking and pressed the power button on my computer. A few days ago my power went out, and I suddenly found myself in the dark staring at a blank monitor.
This has made me worry a bit: what if that happens to my trader character? Then I'll lose the million credits that I have worked very hard to get.
Is there any way to prove that I didn't F1 intentionally?
Make a post offering them compensation for it. Usually double/triple what they asked for is enough to prove your intentions.
Flood works well for this purpose, although I've occasionally seen them in the rules subforum. Same thing works for losing power/connection in a fight, you don't just get sanctioned for F1'ing out of piracy.
