Hello! It came to my attention via another member of staff that the team had decided that a 500 million credit fine towards Auxesia was 'excessive' in light of their actions that include violating a peace treaty (again) by flying in the house without permission, smuggling contraband through the house, and then assaulting law enforcement when caught. This is on top of a few previous incidents over the last year or two, some documented, others let slide. So, as a punishment, and at the risk of a political falling out if refused, Auxesia was given the option of a hefty fine to avoid any legitimate problems with Liberty. Obviously this is harsh. It's to be noted that original suggestion was 250, and it was myself who suggested 500.

So, according to this staff member, not only is it unacceptable (disregarding pirates demanding hundreds of millions from PoBs), they say the team was actually considering pursuing further action against it.

Firstly, did no one consider contacting the LibGov forum account to discuss this? Secondly, is staff not aware of who leads Liberty factions, and is somehow unable to contact said players, despite several having a direct, open DM with one (me) on discord? Thirdly, why is 500 million considered excessive, but the forceful, complete barring from a house with an FR5 not excessive?

Would you mind explaining this to myself (and perhaps others) so it would seem less arbitrary, and perhaps not a kneejerk reaction to what is a very legitimate case of a fringe political group already walking on extremely thin ice just deciding to jump on said ice by attacking law enforcement?

Or is asking for transparency like what was one of the rallying cries against Durandal too much?

After the post was made, we were made aware of it and began discussing as we would any other action item. The overall consensus was yes, this instance was unreasonable, and we were discussing how to move forward with it. It surpasses single-instance demands I'm aware of by a large margin, including those to POBs. Of course twenty-four hours later, it seemed there was intent to move extremely quickly, so the information regarding the demand itself was shared with LibGov as a courtesy while we discussed the action item as a group. We don't necessarily move equally as quickly.

To my knowledge, LibGov was contacted. I'm assuming that's why this post was made.

If you prefer DMs with every individual OF faction leader, I'm sure that could have been done as well, although I personally don't know every single individual in "LibGov" or who does what in it as I have no involvement.

So what's bad, demanding 500M to not be FR5ed after breaching treaty for Xth time while being caught with alien cargo in Liberty and refusing to comply with Liberty Police; or just getting FR5ed without any fine, just notification of it?

so why are we still using arbitrary reasoning for fine values instead of praying to Yahweh that the GMs dont decide that we've crossed the unspoken threshold no one has ever written down or spoken?

imagine violating a treaty that you willingly signed into, a legal agreement, multiple times, as a separate entity, so you were no longer hostile to liberty

imagine agreeing to the terms that you were not to enter without permission, doing so anyway, while hauling illegal cargo, and then shooting law enforcement

its bad optics, and if you want to be flagged as an unlawful group that's hostile to liberty, thats up to you. but if you want to maintain the illusion that youre not a hostile element and should be recognized as a legal, legitimate organization, you pay your fine

Violated multiple times? Remember, you only reported 2 incidents, if there were more, they weren't reported. Also the transport was pretty much self defending itself over its own property. No surprise that LibGov will freak out regardless, not much the dude could have been done, even if he cooperated, it still would have been reported in the end, since the dudes knew he was gonna take the path to Kansas. Keep in mind that Liberty players of one OFL faction has broken the agreement too.

Politics pee pee poo poo, in the end it's all the decision of what the faction wants to lead to on a mutual personal level. At least we don't get reported over indies anyhow.

Back by unpopular demand, me!

I have some stuff to drop, and I apologize in advance for some of the text being blurry. I will provide context as I drop it.

The Xeno Alliance has been trying for some time (years, actually) to get a custom shipline. Several factions received their own lines instead of being restricted to civilian ships, so this isn't out of the ordinary. What is out of the ordinary however, is the current person working on the models. Yes, Reeves is not known for being the most cool-headed fellow. Lots of us have our tempers (me). The resulting commentary from a Game Master on the other hand, reflects rather poorly on the community, and says a lot about not having someone presiding over the staff in a way Igiss did way back.

The screenshots mostly speak for themselves. I also was given permission from Jaypate to post his testimony. So here we go. There will be swearing, and I will not censor it for posterity's sake.

First and foremost, Aerelm decides to withhold the release of the Xeno shipline due to Reeves not acting in a manner which he approves of.



Okay, that's fair I suppose. If it was only Reeves waiting for the release of these ships, and not more than a dozen other players both part of his faction, and indies as well. According to Aerelm however, he's not punishing others for this, just Reeves, a fact he seems to take pleasure in. (Hilariously, punishing a group for the actions of one person is against the Geneva convention.)



Here Aerelm is calling Jaypate a leech for standing up for Reeves, and apparently for a past instance where Jaypate needed help with a project. It's understandable really. I would be angry too if someone wasn't so intimately familiar with the tools and techniques for work like I was.



Reeves asked him to sketch out the ships to pass on to Lucas to create the models. It's likely they were working together, and Aerelm simply took over of his own accord, as my trip through the XA- chat has no mentions of Reeves asking Aerelm to make the 3D model, making me believe he began working of it on his own accord.

It's been 5 months since the post on the shiplines progress was edited, and very much lines up with the fact he has been withholding the release of the shipline just to spite Reeves. Continuing immediately following the leech insult.



I'm certain this is good for devteam cohesion, happening after the fact.
