I am a trader, bored with life. As I sit in my chair, watching the trade lanes go by each day, I wonder if they is more to life than money.

I have enough credits stored up for a cruiser, but I am willing to pilot a VHF until I am allowed to pilot the cruiser in the name of the Southern Alliance. No start up money is necessary. However, do to a rather lengthy trip, I shall be away in a week for a month. Nonetheless, I wish to start active service now, and I will return after the trip to continue active service.

I was born on Manhattan, and grew up like any other kid. Like many of my classmates, I was fascinated with the stars. I have heard tales of space pilots, and like many of my classmates, I deeply desired to fly with them. As I grew, I heard stores about the amazing [SA], a powerful army full of heros. As with any other stary-eyed kid, I imagined myself as a hero in the army.
However, my parents did not want such. They persuaded me to become a trader. As soon as I was out of pilot school, they presented me with a small starflyer and enough money to get a better ship. I was touched, and so I promised I would trade instead of risk my life.
That was years ago. My father died as a result of cell-phone poisoning and my mother died when she was tragically crushed by debris from a ship that was crashing into Manhattan. Even worse, my brother was eaten by mutated wombats that escaped from a nearby research facility and my sister committed suicide due to grief. Now with no family left, life as become a bore. Day after day, I watch the trade lanes go by. Through a series of bribes and careful diplomacy, I managed to become neutral with most pirates. Sadly, this seemed to take even more joy out of my life.
I began to sink into self despair. I fired the few crew I had in a effort to remain lonely, so I could wallow in my own self-pity. I became a recluse. I still traded, but rarely was I seen. Then one day, while I was visiting my family's grave site, I noticed a [SA] Recruitment poster. This rekindled my lost hope, and now with my parents dead, my promised kept, I resolved to join the [SA]. After resolving some business issues and a trip through a now mutant wombat infested ghost town to visit my brother's bones, I stumbled upon the building that once was the sleeper-ship Liberty. As I started into the vast beauty of it, I tripped over a parade of rather large army ants to find myself in front of the [SA] Recruitment desk. I hastily coughed out my intentions and the bored secretary threw papers to fill out at me. I could only hope my journey would soon begin.

Due to a rather lengthy trip, I shall be away in a week for a month. Nonetheless, I wish to start active service now, and I will return after the trip to continue active service.

First off, our sincere apologies to Mr. Lithas. We have no clue how we missed your application. We apologise, again. In a different order of ideas, both yourself and Mr. Ypsilantis have been accepted into the SA on the probationary rank of Navyman Recruit.

However, I don't recommend setting up your fighters just yet. If I were you, I'd wait another couple of days at least.

Personal History----------

Valence Harper was born on planet Manhattan to a family of 4 kids. His father served in the Navy all his life. As a young boy, Valence volunteered to join the boot camps, for he always wanted to become an officer of the law.

Valence was aiming to join the LPI, when he met his father's wingman, and good friend. He explained why the navy was the best choice, since they are very active in the protection of Liberty, fighting off Rogues, Xenos, Hackers and the sort. Valence then decided, after he finished his 4 year boot camp course, that he would join the Liberty Navy, and pilot his father's ship.

John Harper, Valence's father, died several years ago, of natural causes. Valence took this time to meditate on what he really wanted, and, thinking of his father, chose the Liberty Navy, and sat down to write his application.

My name is Robert Darwin, a recent graduate from the West Point Military Academy in the New York system, and I am requesting an interview with a commanding officer and/or acceptance into the Liberty Navy. My background story is one of hardship and overcoming impossible odds. Both of my parents were in the Liberty Navy and therefore, much of my childhood was spend aboard capital ships and military outposts. I was 14 years old when the Rogues ambushed my father's patrol. As commanding officer aboard the LSN Lone Wolf, a small Liberty Cruiser, it was his decision to chase a fleeing war criminal. What waited beyond the ice field was certain death. There were no survivors in my father's patrol. Honoring his legacy, I have assumed the nickname "Lone Wolf". Six years later, my mother and her superior officers were taken prisoner by the same Rogues. I have never heard from her again. After graduating in the top 5% of my class at the West Point Academy, I vowed to follow my parent's footsteps. I swore to honor my father's death and destroy the enemies of Liberty who took my family from me. My philosohpy dictates no surrender, no retreat, and the lives and economic security of Liberty's civilians come before my own. I have been criticized for being heartless toward my enemies at times in order to "get the job done". Throughout my short Naval career thus far, I have been called brutal and cold. However, when failure is not an option, such "ruthless efficiency" toward the enemy faction is what brings prosperity and victory. I do not appease those who cannot be negotiated with.
