There's a deeply rooted hatred for both Outcasts and Corsairs, and it's reflected in most - if not every interaction. On top of promoting transhumanism and all the other whack stuff we do, we've also got a superiority complex. The society believes itself better than most people anyway. We reflect this in our actions and behavior. Its been like this for a long time.

I don't look at this universe as a goofy place. I find Corsair RP laughable and not really a healthy representation of the NPC faction, but to each their own. People say we've got a play to win attitude, but we're just doing what we do and rolling with the punches as they come. If we play too rough for you, and our RP is too much for you to handle, then my question is when did this place become so casual?

Now I wasn't there, nor have I really been around because of RL stuff, but people complaining over the spice of roleplay being something more than a pampered ass-wiping experience? I'd rather go back to dealing with the literal insane people at the hospital.

It would grace your faction to tone down the racism / eugenics a bit.

I suppose it's allowed to be like ... space nazis, though I wonder if that's really the way this faction wants to be seen.

Yet straight up using oorp in rp/'stuff that was a meme' is okay? It has no fitting into the rp environment.



I know that certain members will always hold oorp grudges towards us and I know that this doesn't really apply to all of you, but it's a little tiring to see people trying to cuck over my members just because they're in the faction, highly annoying to hear that they were getting kicked out of other ofls just because they were in this one, or getting crappier treatment. And I know who the select people are, so, I'm not saying all of you are bad, just those people who carry their grudges over to other factions.

As for the RP, it isn't directed at anyone other than the characters, so hopefully no one shouldn't be getting personally attacked, unless, of course, you actually are an ape in real life - in that case, please don't start world of the apes.

So in the faction, within rp, the leader also highly influences how the viewpoint will be, particularly with the loyalist personnel. Right now, Revenant's top two hated organisations are the Corsairs, along with anyone who supports them - the character is more or less programmed to hate them and has repeated negative experiences with Corsairs and, honestly, I don't think the character has ever had a positive one ingame - and the Order Overwatch - who they were backstabbed by.

Regardless of the influence, the factions would naturally clash because:

-The Covenant really hates how alien sites are being destroyed for profit (see Crete, artifact fields and Knossos)

-We have a culture that is based around living in higher conditions, people are pressured to be their best and to always hold a higher standard, personnel being rewarded for going beyond with their efforts. We like being clean. Our capital is also on a frozen world world, so there's always that to be uptight.

-They are also looked down upon because of the historical understanding that Corsairs never reached out for diplomacy and that Corsair technology is crude, finding the links that they're acting like a space tribe.

-Corsairs perceive themselves as a bit more unintelligible, consistent "YALALALAL EL NUT ON MY ELLO, WOBBLY SAUSAGE" or whatever really does downgrade their image when in combination with the raiding, bombing people and piracy. The whole yalalalala thing has been going for about 3-4 real life years, keep it in mind, it's not giving a good view of the server if everyone was acting like a meme.

-Ideology is culturally contrasting, we're transhumanists - living and embracing in technology with that tint of isolatism due to distrust of outsiders and security concerns, Corsairs are perceived as anarcho-primitives - more about the simple life, raiding and deindustrialization.

Viewpoints can be amended through changes of leadership then internal changes.

Despite that, we do actually have some Hispanic ethnicity in our faction, and even the unreleased laws in the culture section do mention about being against hate speech being disallowed in their home space. Those who were accepted in are seen as 'rescued' individuals. Of course, paramilitary and other flight arms will take the opportunity to be meanies. No. We're not Nazi's.

Corsair RP is pleasant and funny, or at least tries to be. But Auxesian RP is coloured with too much emotion for me, it's too serious, too "edgy" from my point of view, and often a bit offensive. Not saying that's necessarily wrong, every faction has their own sentiment, I'm just saying that Auxesia could get more RP if they were more pleasant to interact with.

No? The only time we're outright hostile is with our enemies, we're not really supposed to give out information or personal details. Silence or disdain is encouraged. INRP, pilots who are caught socialising with enemies are punished. You'd find us more talkable if you weren't outright despised by us. (Extremist attitude comes out with GG-, Corsair, Outcasts, Order|, Samura.)

We've had pretty normal talks with Bretonians so I don't really know where you're getting that conclusion from, probably from playing as a Corsair.

If we've pissed you off, then, well, I suppose we're doing the role right then aren't we? We're not exactly the complete 'good' guys or the complete 'bad guys' - we're naturally going to have opposition, and yes, we're contradicting our own codex. That happens when you have bad people as 'good' leaders. It happens with other factions.

Even though this isn't a Corsair feedback thread, it's still Corsair feedback, and taking someone's criticism and refuting its legitimacy by saying "that's how it's always been, why should we bother changing it?" is kind of against the spirit of feedback threads in general.

We should probably encourage Corsair players who elect to play this jocularly to take on a little more gravitas, don't you think? Hell, any players.

No. It's the context, and obviously nothing happened ingame in that situation for the person to be able to say that. A certain group of people started hurling insults and random claims at the group (this is obviously not ingame) over the forums, over skype, etc, and people never mentioned anything like this inrp until the circlejerking and insults happened.

Kindergarten behaviour is never acceptable.


Also the YALALALA really didn't happen until late 2014, nutella stuff happened with Yaren in 2015 with the Core events. Either way, it still paints the npc faction as braindead or just too memey. I've never really seen a Corsair player properly, well... roleplay. Sombra's Corsair Murm comes to mind, but, if one player is memorable, that's pretty bad.

It's fine, I've tried to give a little bit of feedback and instead of taking it as something to work with you can only no you about corsairs. take that to the TBH feedback, it doesn't matter what character from what faction witnesses racist rp, it's unattractive.
But Auzari since you're actually proud of that, and since you want to compare things, just go out there and be all space nazi, to try to piss people off, and I will go out there to be a space clown and try to make people laugh.

After reading all of this I can only conclude this faction is a joke that takes itself way too serious.

PS, Yalalala has been a corsair battlecry througout 3 corsair official factions since 2010, and I know that because I've invented it.
I could take time to explain why sair rp is the way it is, and has been like that for a long time before Aux was even a thing,
because sairs came out of their isolation relatively recent, have a distinct culture that is vastly different from the usual in Sirius etc., but it would only fall on deaf ears here so I won't even bother and on top of that this is Aux feedback not Corsairs.

I never had such experience myself, only witnessed others. You were pretty domineering to Steiner as far as I know, though maybe Steiner likes that...

It's not aimed at the players of the characters and I think that you should make at least a partial attempt to fix your problem before trying to get others to fix theirs supposed ones. I make sure that people don't spill oorp hate into their rp. If you see anyone trying to be funny or misbehaving then tell me and I'll deal with them, or any of the HC.


It's not just the whole yalala thing, a war cry is fine, but other satirical elements ruin the image of the entire npc faction, at least for those who care about the universe setting. I'm more than certain that there are others who agree with me.

You're not your characters. If we're going to pamper the game down, then by right you should all stop being xenophobic to the nomad players.

I do take that serious, and I am hammering down on fixing our problems, apparently they are smaller than your problems because until now we mostly get praise for giving people a good time. Still, the snowflake example for instance, I am not a fan of that and I do hammer down on that way of interaction.

And I am sure that there are a lot who disagree. I suppose it's also a matter of perspective.
If you have a inaccurate image in your head of what Corsairs are supposed to be, and if you fail to adjust that image by actual encounters with them, than it's really a case of being unable to accept that there's more than black and white, pure good and pure evil.
I'd go as far as saying maybe you need a faction out there that is pure evil to feel better about yourself?

I am not a Corsair, I am just a guy who was RP'ing with your faction, had a preconception that your faction was quite alright and interesting, but got some really bad vibes from your faction's ingame RP and politely asks you if you really want to present yourselves like that.

In between all the useless bickering some valid points were raised supporting your faction's behaviour, those I acknowledge. So I got my answer, yes this is how your faction wants to present itself. It's not for me and I'll be avoiding interaction with your faction but probably there's an audience for it.

Case closed.

I'm talking about corsairs because it's how the faction is seeing it through majority populace. It's how the characters see it.

I don't really care what players do with their characters. But when everyone does it, people need to remember that actions will have representation consequences, both rp and oorp. Corsairs are honorable and mighty warriors by lore, they're not represented like that in disco. It's actually more offensive that people would rather twist the lore to be ha ha hilarious. Sure, it's subjective. Your feelings are also subjective because objectively, the player is not the intended target.

I don't know how it's really hard for you to understand that the point of the faction is about high standards and that all factions have different ideologies, of course they'll call them backwards savages. No faction is good or bad. There needs to be a ying or yang, and I don't mind playing either side.


So when you're playing as a Corsair, of course we're not supposed to be likeable because we're opposing you. We're not going to 0w0 snuggles up wif u *^~^*
