Personally, i think the fault is that the Zoners are way too much organized. The disco community is very lenient about not screwing the Zoners over their diplomacy, that is why the zoner-zonering is only annually not permanent. To me, the Zoners would be served best if the Freeports were more or less each on its own with individual diplomacy, where "individual" means reddish-white to greenish-white flexibility...

Well I haven't gottten that far yet as Im trying to figure if its "welcomed yet somewhat hard to achieve " or "forget it". It depends on what the folks in disco say.
I think the question was what you personally think this could achieve - while rp for the sake of rp is good, it would still need some reasons or goals so you can explain sombody why it is even there and why it is good or bad and what it's all about.
- Govern lolwutty factions who signup from doing foolish acts that will reflect to all zoners
- Establish a local trade route, starting from the outskirts of delta to baffin ( to make it worthwhile selling goods to one another to gain profit )
- Assist one another, in finance, if one group needs something, others should help them out each in term ( the only difference is from today is that it will be 1 voice instead of each faction doing its own "conditions".
- Utilize the zoner tech&lore and rewind the diverse groups that we currently have.
Thats what i have in mind at the moment, the good stuff always pop off when im dj'ing.
At best the Zoners can communicate with each other, but in general the Zoners dislike organization and controlling bureaucracies. If I made another Zoner he would be an anarchist and probably pretty vocal about it. I do not think a unified Zoner thing would work, at all, in game at least. Zoners defy that one ID per faction rule because they cannot unify.

This does not mean it kills the factions themselves, but it does mean it will be responsible for the stuff that generaly involves zoners.
Bad idea, and would say this idea has come about because of what's going on now with ZA. So you want to create an elder faction that will control what all other zoner factions can basically do, or cannot do. Thus... you could then put an end to what ZA is doing now by having control over them - because you'd be responsible for anything they do.
All you're really suggesting, is create a new zoner faction to rule all others. They'd be answerable to you. It's not hard to read between the lines with this idea.
-Well, the problem with lolwutty factions is that they are lolwuts and either won't sign up at all or sign up and ignore everything they don't like...which is the reason they are lolwuts in the first place.
-What is wrong with diversity? Most people like options, that is why we have so many small factions so you can get a handfull of like minded players and live your own little space saga. The problems arise when it hurts other peoples gameplay or oversteps server-set boundaries.....which somehow closes the circle to the whole lolwuttery again. ( and opens up a whole other can of worms big enough to be off topic i guess)
I mean...completly hypothetically - if said Zoner overhead existed...and lets say...the ZA is in that thing...and you were given leeway up to a certain point( let's say up to one week ago) ....and then all the Zoners in said council decided: Dear ZA, selfdestruct all your bases to restore the peace!
Would you have followed that? Would you have liked it? Would you have stayed in that council or left and continued on? I really mean no offense- but this is a perfect example of why no such legislative organ for such a whidespread heterogenous faction like the Zoners exists in my opinion.
