Wait. Since the begin disco was full of custom imports and shit, I'm 146% sure not a single custom made ship have a LOD models. So why we're lagging just now? This doesn't seems like a good explanation.

Also lag is on the server side, somewhere in pocket exchange business. Models are loading only on client PC, then client just sends the coords, speed, vector, velocity, etc of all moving objects, static too. So basically we have lag in PING between clients and server. Either server can't handle too much of info exchange on the server or else. Models can't be blamed, either the effect quality - the server itself receives just numbers.

Maybe because of a lot of NPC, POBs, Turrets and other stuff - which have their projectiles and movements generated on server, not client PCs, are lagging us. Like, server have no bandwidth to toss the info around in time - thus lag. Reducing amount of NPCs, removing that strange fire speed increasing plugin (I have no idea why it's for), removing POB weapon platforms. This might work, who knows.

the lag cant be related to projectiles, models or anything like that because there didnt used to be lag and as Curios said there used to be a hell of alot more import models which didnt have LODs either, and super high refire guns which lagged a little but not even nearly as bad as it does now.

I know this might sound off, but perhaps it is the mining system?
I tried disabling it and the default server load was a bit lower. Might not be the case tho.

PSA: If you have been having stutter/FPS lag on Disco where it does not run as smoothly as other games, please look at the fix here: https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...pid2306502

Well, everything listed adds to connection and server load more or less - task is to find out what makes the most load so devs know what needs altering\removing\fixing. My bet is that there is some pocket exchange problem because of some custom plug in that makes server to send too much information to the end point client PCs which overloads the connection in result so we experiencing a lag in connection. Mind it's not a pocket loss - they are arriving but not sent in time. Ping is also okay so connection to the server is stable.

What I noticed is soon as I come close to some base, the amount of things it shoots at me makes me lag. And I really did upgrade my pc some time ago, so don't think its coming from my end Big Grin

Again, I'm talking about lag as in...internet lag. Nothing FPS related. My pc is pro and I run the game at 9001951 fps. Server lag. Internet lag. Rubberbanding. That.

68 players and still suffering from terrible lag spikes in a brawl that involved no more than 7 people in NY (not counting spectators). Seriously, why do you guys still pvp in this game? XD
