Anywhere down the C column in Texas would be fine for the base, I've also been considering California and Ontario for positions. However California has the nice spots taken by stations already leaving the northen field as the only untapped location but I think that would be a little too close to the tradelane and eventually being used to escape police instead of a sell point.

Ontario on the other hand could also work, a base on the edge of the field at H6 between the Colorado and California jumpholes would serve both chokepoints without giving pirates a safe haven too close to the lanes.

Both Texas and Ontario have good positions but I'm leaning towards Ontario as the highest lawful sell points for ore heading through Liberty is Cali and Colorado and the Ontario base would sit dead centre of it.

Update: Added individual House illegal commodity prices.

Right, the number crunching is done, all I need now is to decide where to put the Liberty base and find some names.

On the naming front I've tried looking for historical smuggling hideouts, river names and criminally linked casinos/bars but so far I've got nothing that sounds good. So any suggestions would be great!

As a native Texan, some of our big border smuggling areas are Juarez, Nuevo Laredo/Laredo, Douglas, Reynosa, and McAllen, but these are only current.

Historically, New Orleans was a big slave trade city, but I'm not sure about contraband

Current or historical, both are fine. I think I'll expand the names to towns or cities within or around the system's namesakes but I think we have a winner for Texas with Juarez. Thanks Kaiser.

What other systems are you wanting name suggestions for?

For myself I am an optimist - it does not seem to be much use being anything else.

I'd like names for bases in Hokkaido, Leeds, Stuttgart and Ontario. All the info you need is in the first post of this thread, I keep it updated.

Thanks Gypsy, the idea is almost a reality. All that needs doing before I begin the write up is deciding where to put the Liberty base, getting some names for the bases and finalising the prices.

I've decided to place the Liberty base in Texas owing to it's numberous jumphole connections and proximity to NY. All bases will offer 70% of the highest lawful sellpoint for ores and with the exception of Texas, will offer 50% of the highest unlawful sell point for smuggled goods.

Prices for House specific illegal goods are considered finished and general commodities prices are still being worked on.

The problem with the general commodities is that almost everything made in Sirius has it's highest sell point in Gallia and while I don't mind the place there is no chance of me putting a base there. So I'll be going through the entire list of commodities, minus pilots, passengers and perishables, adding prices on a base by base process. Hopefully I'll have some numbers to give you folks before round 2 of the cargo piracy vote.
