I know this is gonna sound like a slam, even though it's honestly not intended to be at the root.

I make the occasional flood thread & most of 'em utterly fail & sink into obscurity because I lack the ability to be simple minded to make a thread like this this that that gets multiple page replies. I get the secret of success, but I simply can't dumb my threads down enough to the level that would appeal to the masses. I just don't know how to do that, & yet honestly, sometimes, I wish I could.

I think my biggest flaw is that I have an unjustifiable, habitual overestimation of people's level of wit...& that tends to work to my disadvantage on the whole

Ultimately, I think it's my own fault for having a brain I'm not afraid of using

Maybe if I learn to get over that, I may become more successful in flood nowandays

that's not to say flood ever had a brain, it's just that I remember a time when flood was much less brainless on the whole, & was more welcoming of a guy like me

I just don't have the empty-heasdedness to appeal to today's flooders anymore

Try and be more easy with others, it's ok it's a very good game harroosing. It's flood. It's love. It's 8|. Nothing serious here, what's the matter? Just join our fun, but don't let yourself get down over a joke, just take it easy. You're too worried to fall down into "their" level, as you say, instead of just having fun in this Flood thread.

You can reply, or leave it. Your choice 8), but me with opening such thread am inviting those which are sharing the fun. You prolly gonna think "Why?", just do it. If you're too worried about the maturity of this community, go have a private talk with those persons, get to know them, meet them, try to understand and I'm sure you'll soon figure out that those people are actually way different than what they're showing themselfs here. By making this thread I was just thinking, I was involved in many chats where "8|" and "8)" was very overused and in some parts of conversations it was actually funny, like a sudden silence "8|". It has nothing to do beeing close-minded or headless/empy-minded or whatever.

It's the one who thinks it is, that makes the drama out of it. Everyone has a child inside him
