Huh; are you sure about that? We've lost about 10000 (!) accounts since yesterday (it was at 19405 yesterday according to this post) and we're now down to 9078. Hasn't the "account older than 30 days with 0 posts" cleanup been performed before? I do believe I've heard that mentioned before, at least.

PS: It seems to be quite a bit more than that, as I can't find a single non-recently registered account with less than three posts on the first 32 42 pages of members. If this was done intentionally I'd very strongly suggest at least giving some warning before deleting more than half of all registered accounts overnight, and particularly so for accounts with a non-zero post count. Shy

EDIT: Sorry, changed a few things: Looked through a few more pages and rewrote a bit of the second paragraph.

I mean...
I don\'t think that was a good idea.

Do you even realise how much money you can get from selling that many email addresses to spam companies?! 8|

I ran a quick query in the Admin CP and I see 200 users with 0 posts in the past 30 days.
I've also found 2100 users with less than or equal to 5 posts.

edit: and no, that thing was never done before but it should have.

Ah, alright, that should explain most of the removed accounts, then, which is good. I was just a bit more surprised to see no non-recent accounts with less than three posts on the first 42 pages, including a few (with non-zero post counts, i.e. with one or two posts on them) that I know existed yesterday.

It does look like a few accounts with posts were removed though. The Colony News Service account is gone.

The Welcome subforum has quite a large amount of threads belonging to now-unregistered users, so it's a lot more than just a few.

EDIT: Anyhow. The point was that I'm still not sure as to why one would delete accounts with a non-zero amount of posts on them, so I was asking to see whether it was done intentionally or not. It is of course none of my business, but seeing as one of my RP accounts were deleted plus the accounts of a heap of relatively recent newcomers I'd rather ask just in case.

It's easily fixed so it's not a big problem either way.

I can see purging files at times, but there are some like myself who have been around awhile, come and go at times, but don\'t post that often. Hopefully wont get to aggressive with cleansing.

@Alley: Ah, alright, then. Thanks for the reply, good to hear! I just wanted to check just in case, as it seemed like a bit much too soon (in my opinion), especially considering that there wasn't any advance notice.

EDIT2: Another thing to note: It seems like accounts with a post counter set to zero (but with a non-zero amount of posts) have been deleted as well, such as Mwerte's account (?) and a few Flood-only alt accounts. Looks like MyBB only checks the post counter (not that that's too surprising).

Doubt it. It looks more like a case of mybb not doing what it was told to do. It's not exactly the best forum software in the universe.
