You might want to get in touch of the /highers/ of Microsoft Studios about it, especially if they're not responding/and how it's mentioned they taken down their store page for it. Granted, it's not a popular game, but if you can cause an uproar on social media - somehow, they might notice it.

Actually a good idea. You could send an email stating to reply within a given time or you can cause an uproar.....

I don't literally mean an 'offensive uproar' by the way - just ones that grab your attention. Hashtag free lancer - whatever.

Anyway.

I wonder if anyone has tried to contact Chris Roberts concerning this?

What does he have to do with this?

He was originally part of the team and was one of the key designers for Freelancer and founded Digital Anvil - who worked on FL. Hell, he's had the "space game" vision since Wing Commander - which essentially gave birth to Freelancer

I can see why he would be the man to to speak with. Heh funny if Discovery became the rights holder. Discovery could impose the laws, jk. But it would be a great advancement if we could actually obtain the ability to directly modify the game with the source code....

People have tried emailing them about freelancer in the past, and I have done myself several times recently as well. They're not going to answer those sorts of queries.

I think if this is done, it'll likely be in the vein of "it's [literally in this case] easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission."

its Microsoft do you honestly think a petition will go anywhere, when they can see that our Disco and other Freelancer programmers can make the game they made better?

they not interested, which is a shame, if they could of allowed the code to be released fully, would of been ace, wont happen tho
