I went with another character to confirm if he really was a freelancer, he was using a pirate ID, but on his name showed that he is a freelancer.

I suppose that needs to be fixed somehow. It must be a problem that you are for example an AI and you have a corsair ID.

Do not mix the two. Freelancer IFF is a generic IFF, so is the Pirate ID a generic ID, the two can be mixed. AI IFF with Corsair ID cannot.

What Thyr wants to say is: having FL-IFF (the thing you see in front of the name) and Pirate ID is okay. It's a legal trick to keep the pirate from showing up as red on your scanners. It is inside the rules to do that.

Independent Pirates are neutral to everyone. Even to lawfuls. It is only a trick to not be shown as "Pirate" on your scanner.

Yes there is. /pirate when you have the Pirate ID mounted. Be happy with your Pirate IFF then because you are a pirate!
