With one side of the conflict completely gone from the game, I think the question of whether the Kusari civil war has a future has been answered already. It's sad, but that's the fact, isn't it?

For me, I think Option 1 (backstab Gallia in Taus) would be preferrable, as it somehow fits to how I imagine a proud Kusari Samura controlled traditional empire that was humiliated by the Gallic roll-over.

Option 2 (fighting Liberty on Gallia's behalf) would create a lot more activity and would likely be a better source of activity and pews for Kusari. RP justification would be that a Kishiro Kusari is just too weak to say "no!" to anything Gallia orders them to do. They could use skirmishing techniques to bind LN forces from moving to Magellan/California, and thus avoid any full-out counterattacks that would wreck Kusari's weakened fleet.

I agree that every House needs a full blown war.
It's sad to see the nice storyline of the civil war fail, but I think it would be somewhat naive to still believe that this will become a thing again. I'll happily let myself be proven wrong on this, though!

I love the Civil war idea. I hate that nobody plays it.

People go where the credits are. Give Kusari a commodity that sells for big money in New York and you'll get plenty of people there to have a civil war with.

One of the ideas thrown around in the KSP chat (yes there is one), was having some/all of the stationary battleship bases defect to IKN. Along with the obvious ZoI change to include all of Kusari, this would bolster the IKN numbers to be a bit more reasonable against the KNF, and give them bases to raid the KNF from.

A Kusari/Liberty war would be interesting, but only if there was enough KNF willing to log against LN, otherwise LN would just stomp who ever logs.

A Kusari/Gallia war is bit more iffy Rp-wise, but could kinda work, however, GRN barely logs anymore with all of their current enemies, so why log/make a KNF ship to shoot GRN who don't log much and could already by shoot at by BAF or LN

Also, not sure where the "Kusari can't rebuild caps" came from, since the single remaining KNF guard base (Kure Shipyard) explicitly mentions rebuilding caps, and that Kusari will have a brand-spanking new fleet before long, since all the old ones blew up.

Anyway, once this update has sorted out Liberty and Bretonia, an update for Kusari would be great.

There is enough knf willing to log, the problem is that we want to log against the LN instead of sitting around in dead systems

Sorry for spreading misinformation about Kusari not being allowed to rebuild its capital fleet by Gallia. I heard this in the Gallic Lawful Chat some time ago, but I can't remember from who.

Calling @Teerin to the discussion; can we get an official statement on where the story is heading, or what the plans are for the civil war?

Inactive; hope to be back at some point

Here is an idea about the Exiles fate :

Make them merge with Farmer Alliance. It's no news Farmer Alliance possibilities are limited because Synth Foods has zero presence player-base wise. Making Exiles merge with them in a revolutionary faction could be promising, as it would give a lot of opportunities :
- Traditionalists willing to bring back the old ways.
- Imperialists willing to restore Samura backed bloodline.
- Isolationists / Xenophobes against any foreigners.
- Former military forced to do things breaking their morale code (pirating, raiding GMG...).
- Military extremists wishing to seize the power for themselves, bringing back the shogunate.
- Anti Gallia terrorists.

That's a lot better than the somewhat narrow role-play Farmer Alliance can offer right now.

It would also allow the group to use Military equipment to some extent (coming from the Exiles), and ultimately allowing them to have more presence in the Sigmas (getting rid of that stupid Farmer Alliance Legate Battleship and replacing it with a Hatchet or something, for example).

We would then have a dichotomy between Blood Dragons (supposedly following an honor code) and that new group, who would do morally condemnable things as a way to achieve their objectives.

I really like that idea.

Right now both FA and Exiles are lacking in activity, almost completely. They both share ideology to some point, both supported by Samura and some of their goals are shared.
Reformation of FA into something more radical, like "Military extremists wishing to seize the power for themselves, bringing back the shogunate." looks good.
Old member of Exiles remember Kurile blockade and have some grudge towards GMG, really don't like new gov. FA condemned as terrorists and won't return to semi-lawful back with the Republic in charge.
Exiles don't have shipyard to maintain their ships, while FA got one that can up to dessie (somewhat) size.

It will also give inrp manpower towards FA and there won't be a need for stupid Legate, they will have 1-2 stationary KNF BS.

Also it will solve this stalemate with civil war that is not happening. Republic KNF will win, since INRP it got manpower, support of population (even if not whole, but majority) + inrp Gallia wouldn't allow exiles to win.

You are just merging two dead factions into one dead faction if you ask me. But give it a try. The idea is not that bad. We've had something similar in Rheinland with the Unioner's and the LWB flying under the AGS banner. @West @Yaoquizque

Sorry, but I think this is a terrible idea. It also goes back to the one-dimensional view that the FA's only roleplay is to fight Synth. The FA's roleplay is about securing economic independence for Kusari based on a structure that removes the need for foreign products or interference. Any foreign trader coming through Kusari or carrying Kusari goods is a fair target for the FA. There is a lot more that could be done with FA roleplay. Aside from wanting to re-establish the Imperial line, the Exiles and the FA have nothing in common. It doesn't matter though, it seems clear that the devs have no interest in advancing the Kusari story line, which had they actually done it over the past 4 years, probably would have made this discussion moot. For all the talk of people not wanting to create the Blood Dragons 2.0, all these ideas seem to do just that. And I don't know what this idea about the Blood Dragons having honor and the FA not, every faction and most characters think they are doing the honorable thing. That talk is just nonsense. If the devs want to work on anything Kusari related, it should be throwing the civil war into full blown house wide war, and putting some profitable trade routes in that will drive trade activity to Kusari.
