"It looks great, Lindsay. Cool flag." Nicole shouted over to her. "By the way, that Switchblade of yours is beat up. Lemme take a look at it and fix it up good as new sometime. Anymore dings and that cockpit won't seal anymore." In reality, Nicole would buy him an entirely new fighter, but it's his old craft and she'd just patch it up best she knew how. "Just don't be picking me up, I may be shorter than you but I'd be a handful." She chuckled, looking over to Lindsay and her sandcastle.
"You don't have to do that.. Thing's beat up as is.. and I was thinking of having a new ship flown out here for when we leave anyway.."
He wasn't fully sure if it was worth it to even try to fix it up given it's age, but the fact that she was willing only made him smirk as he joined her in watching Lindsay.
"I mean if you wanna replace it that's ok, but if not I'm sure I can get it into better shape it's in now. About the water.. heh.. of all the things.. I'm scared of it.." She nudged herself closer to him, clearly scared of what's under the water, but also curiously eyeing it up, torn whether to go into it or stay away.
"Guess it'll wait for a while.."
He noticed her eyeing the water, chuckling. "Really? Scared of a little water? I'm impressed, Ms. Prower.." He sat up, looking over to her. "If a little water intimidates you, then I wonder what else does.."
"Hm.. what're you getting at? Think about it, I'm just... a kind, gentle woman who's scared of the unknown.." Trying to cover for herself, the ideas that may be running through Allen's head also intimidated her, but she kept glancing back to the ocean, to Lindsay playing with her sandcastle, then back to him, relaxed, but noticeably going through what may happen next, as if playing a game of chess.
He pushed himself up to his feet, turning to her and holding a hand out. "C'mon.. I'll go in with you, hon.. See if we can't beat any squids to death with our combined might." He was clearly entertained by the idea of her being an aquaphobe, but knew for a fact that she wasn't. Still, it put a grin on his face that didn't seem easily removable.
"Oh alright.. just don't be gettin' no funny ideas, dear." She stood up a little, brushing the loose sand off her elbows taking his hand but instinctively hiding behind him. No one could place as to why the confident girl was so shy in public, but whatever it was, it always amused those around her.
He chuckled, walking with her towards the water. He stopped at Lindsay's sand castle, kneeling down and messing with her hair. "Hey, kiddo. How's the water? Daddy's gonna take Nikki over and walk her through it."
"It's cool! It's like the swimming pool back at home! Just be careful, daddy.. There's.. small buzzy things in there.. They tickle.."
He smiled, patting her shoulder. "Thanks, kiddo.." He looked to Nicole. "Jellyfish.. not a worry at all.."
J-Jellyfish?? As if not hidden enough, the girl took refuge fully behind him, swinging her arms around into a full circle, hugging him as they walked along. Her head now against his back, she was a little scared now, but she was kept mostly calm knowing he'd be right there with her.
"Relax, sweetheart.. They're not even that scary.. some of them even taste half decent.."
He proceeded along rather wobbly, the fact that she was holding him from behind slightly messing up his form of walking. He managed though, taking his first steps into the water with her. So far they weren't even that deep, maybe about a foot, where the both of them would start to feel a very light tingling sensation, Allen chuckling a little.
"See..? Water's not gonna kill ya.. and even if it is, I'm here to stop it.."
