Eva, taking a moment to think, ran her hand through her hair.

"I'm feeling a little classy, mind if I try some of that wine?"

Ted brought a glass over to the desk and added a healthy measure of wine to it.
"So, to business!" Ted settled himself back into his seat and drank deeply from his glass. "So, what has brought you so far from home?"

As Ted poured the fine wine into a glass, Eva gave a small joyful nod to him. After he was done she picked up the glass and had a small sip of the drink.

"Indeed. To business. As I already mentioned to you before, I've brought with me a rather special package in my ship, and it's not one I could have exactly brought with me up here."

Eva fidgets slightly with her hands while she tries to think of how to phrase what she wants to say.

"Before I elaborate, allow me to ask you a question. What do you know of the political situation within the Brigands? Do you know how we conduct our business and organise ourselves?"

"No, I'm not much of a political fella, I tend to follow the credits." Ted chuckled to himself and drank a little more from his glass. "I've been given the impression that you folks operate similar to how our pals the Rogues operate here in Liberty. Each station more or less is its own gang, its own routes, its own higherarchery. They all just happen to call themselves Rogues."

Eva gives a swift nod at his words.

"You've more or less hit the nail on the head. Everyone is independent of one another and only follows the top dog for their respective group. However..."
She pauses slightly, trying to conjure up the correct wording.

"However, while the Brigands all follow a similar ideology and grow their own routes in similar places, they all have their own identities. Some are loyal to certain leaders, others are more independent, like myself. The only thing that even remotely unites us is our dead ideology, that was once used to liberate Planet Marne from Royals. Anyway, I digress. "

Eva clears her throat before continuing to talk.

"The reason I've given you that brief history lesson is because of my cargo. Recently there an incident with two of the Brigand factions when they went toe to toe with each other. The battle was between the Maxime Family of Boulogne, and those fighting in name of Rousseau of Planet Marne. The conflict was, shall we say, decisive? Boulogne's pilots got slaughtered with only one survivor I'm aware of. That survivor is in my hold, and is what I've brought to you."

"I can imagine that you're wondering why. His name is Remy Maxime, and is the brother of the guy calling the shots at Boulogne. I brought him here, hoping when he's safe he'd pay me some compensation for saving his life and giving him an opportunity to exact revenge someday or something along those lines - it doesn't matter to me. I was hoping that you'd take temporary charge of him here until he's all recovered from the battle and ordeal. I'm confident he'd compensate you, as well as myself, as I'm aware he's got the money to do so."

Eva leans back in her chair after spilling her plan to Ted, eager to hear his response and hoping for a positive reception.

Ted's face fell slightly. "I'm sorry, did I hear you right. You want me to take care of someone, not sell them off, carve them up for parts, or turn them into synth paste." Ted raised an eyebrow. "Also who's to say he has anything worth of value, you yourself just said he hasn't even paid you yet." Ted smiled "Don't get me wrong, I'm willing to help anyone, for a price." Ted chuckled slightly "Tell you what, I'll care for your man, in exchange....for Nox. 500 units of your purest grade. Deliverable here of course."

"Ahh Nox. Such an addictive, but lucrative, substance. I have a freighter that I use for small deliveries that need to be done quickly, so I should be able to provide the cargo. If I'm smart with my words, I might even be able to get Rousseau to pay for them."

Eva once again started to play with her hair, twirling it while she thought to herself.

"Remy is more of a gamble than anything else. He's a sly devil as any decent smuggler tends to be, but I feel that if I put him in the right situation it should be beneficial for both you and I. Would you like to go see him? Time is getting on and he's been in that makeshift cell in my ship for several days now - it's made better by the fact he doesn't even know I'm the one holding him." Eva giggled to herself quietly, amused by the situation she's created.

Ted laughed loudly "And they say I'm cruel." Ted finished his glass and stood "Well lets meet the man then. No reason to keep him waiting any longer than he has." Ted chuckled to himself and grabbed a "Welcome To Freeport 2" pamphlet laying on the desk between them. "He might also want to know a little about where he is staying." Ted looked over Eva "Lead on then."

Eva nodded proudly, this entire situation fed her ego a tremendous amount considering she'd not only set it up but is also doing her best to play hero to the guy that she'd shot out of the sky. Giving a short word of confirmation she then started to make her way back through the hallways that she'd prior struggled to navigate. After she walked him into the hanger where her Sunbeam lied, she took a moment before opening the hatch to her ship, as if to force Ted to savour the sight of this vessel even more - not much could really stop Eva when she was in this mood, she was egotistical as ever.

"Well then. Let's walk you through to Remy. He's on the far side, but I don't think that should matter much. "

Eva continued to walk him through the ship towards Remy's makeshift cell. It was really just a door locked from one side with a tiny slot to slide a food tray under. Simple, but effective. When she arrived, she paused before hitting the unlock button and turned towards Ted.

"I've got no idea how he is gonna react to this, but it should be fun in any case."

Eva gently tapped the button on the side panel, and the sound of pressure being released could be heard while the door was unlocked.

As the door opened, Ted and Eva were met with a rather grizzly sight. Remy was not the fanciest dresser he was a short while ago. He didn't carry that sense of luxury among pirates that he used to boast. He'd definitely changed. Living in a closed of cell, no bigger than 6² Meters. It had a withered bed of cloth and furs that had been used as a makeshift bed and a small connected toilet facility. On one side of the room there was a pair of dirty clothes that had most likely seen several days used before being discarded for the pair currently residing on Remy's back.

When the door opened, Remy was laying in the bed, exhausted of being stuck in such a small room for God knows how long. As soon as he heard it open, he stood up, startled as he didn't expect anyone to walk in.

Who...

The Gallic man tried to speak, but couldn't finish as he started to cough briefly, still uneasy and surprised that someone had finally opened the door.

Who are you people?

He didn't seem to know who Eva was, which wasn't surprising, seeing as he had never met her before the incident in Tau 29.

Did Rosseau send two of his thugs? Is that it?

He looked down, giving a frustrated sigh, and whispered quietly, in a way that the two wouldn't hear.

Rat dégoûtant... Can't even do it himself.
