Oi, Kambei, you bring your armoured trans and I'll bring my BHG GS and we'll see who wins.

Fact is, the GB also has 6 x 3.2k hull a sec damage, and can ustain firing those forever, and it also has a gunboat shield.

Comparing numbers does nothing:P

Result: Comparable stats in everything. Gunship have better guns but transport have much better maneuvrability and 200 thruster speed, tinny flat profile hard to hit when dodging = transport win against fighters and even against BH gunship (with skilled pilot).

Same for hacker gunship, difference is only hacker gunship have 5000 more HP but gunboat aces in armored. transpor will own this gunship too.

Btw: armored transport cost only 2734750 credits which is 6x less than bountyhunter gunship:)

You beacuse I sux not beacuse of ship:)

I agree comparing numbers is nothing, esential thing is maneuvrability... when I was flying a lot with hacker gunship my 6 guns and 65000 armor almost allways owned 8 guns and 115000 armor of sair lunchbox just beacuse they was outmaneuvred... beeing outmaneuvred was and I believe still is enough:)

It was said many times... main work of gunboats is killing fighters and bombers... in that case armored transport own all gunboats without any doubt (if your main weapons arent missiles).

Was it necesary to quote whole LONG post?

- power output is not necesary in transpot class, it is enough to shoot constantly 2 codies and lvl 4 transport turrets without significant energy loss... same for gunboat if you arent using razos and cerberus turrets.

Erm for me orca sux, gunship is much better choise...

It seemed that this new version of gunship is going to be much weaker than this current one, why do you think that gs owners will change his old version for this new one?

Erik,it jas everything with experience. My corsair gb was never killed by bh gs. When you know how to use its 8 guns,only gb that can kill you in 1vs1 is other corsair gb...

The gunship won't have an old version, the stats and model will just be adjusted automatically. So you'll have to deal with the changes.

Not really. Gunboats in general will be anti-fighter/bomber, and the gunship will be better at that than the Orca.

Aren't fighters and bombers handling that to themselves already?

Seriously, what for?

The bloody point, as you put it, is to run escort for larger caps and help keep the bombers in check and from getting to the Battleships, Destroyers and such. You have to remember that, a lot of balancing for cap ships takes into account that they should work in teams. You send a lone BC, Dessie, BS into a system by itself and the bombers will eat it alive, so you bring in a GS with anti-fighter capability and your larger cap ship will survive longer. There is nothing wrong with the BHG GS, it is doing what is meant to do. As other folks here have pointed out an other GB piloted well, will tear up a BHG GS
