If you, the pirate would give your vitims some deacent pr, instead of "3mill ordie" + "engaging", you might get rewarded with some really nice play, after witch you still get to kill the transport...but oh yea ist mutch simpler to point at others and start crying.
The ones that don't roleplay are mostly the indie pirates. I for one always start conversations with the trader, but 9 out of 10 i get "how much you want, i'm in a hurry" (right after my first line of chatter, and while i didn't even mention anything about pirating yet). Since they're carrying perishable cargo or just want to make a lot of money really really fast. This all happens while they constantly engage cruise engines, even after you told them to stop for a scan. So, the roleplay has to come from two sides, not just one. Next time i'll just remove all their guns and stuff, then continue disrupting them until they decide to either f1, or dock.

I find this funny. Pirates complaining that Traders are sick of getting rapped. Did it ever occur to you that maybe, just maybe, you'll have less problems if you ask for less?
If you want the big cred's then I suggest you work for like we do. Despite all the ancient stories about wet navy pirates on old earth, I would expect that for every "rich" Red Beard pirate their where dozens and dozens of "poor" ones.
Crime does not pay, or at least not well, most of the time.
You Pirates see a train and think "MONEY!"
Well let me clue you in;
Independent traders average 4-5 mill cred's PROFIT a load and that assumes they are running all over the universe and not dead-heading to their next stop. About half the time they are making less then a mill cred's on at least one leg of their run.
With House traders it gets even worse. They are limited to specific runs buy Corp headquarters.
Add in to all this the fact that you Pirates seem to think its a god given right that we stop. That its ok for 2 or 3 of you to hit us on a single run, and yes, we get a little sick of it.
As you can see you start paying premium fees then soon you are in the hole.
And this is all before we get in to the garbage houses like GMG, that allow piracy in their systems but blow allies for carrying proscribed cargos.
It all adds up for the traders and very quickly they get fed-up with it all.
Let me ask you this.
Is it better to get 3 mill cred's from one trader and have to kill 10 others or is it worth more to get 500k from everyone? Heck even a mill cred's isn't too bad on some loads.
At the whining <strike>bi...</strike> trader above me. If you find it unfair that you'll have to trade 2 weeks to buy that incredi-awesome battleship instead of just 1 week, you might need to consider a different route that doesn't involve corsair space, or a system that has high piracy activity. Pirates rob tradeships, you should be happy we're not asking money AND all cargo.
' Wrote:Why report. Admins have better things to do. Ask a friend to get a transport and kill him, tractor the loot and sell. We always have a Pir transport ready just because they dont pay.
Hey, the admins need to relieve some stress and have fun too. And what better way to do that than take it out on the people causing some of their headaches?

Ahhh, the Zoner carrying artifacts into GMG space, then whinging after he was given 3+ chances to drop it.
And ask any pirate who frequents Sigma-13, dear. He'll tell you how many times the GMG security division has blown him to scrap.
None? Everytime I pass by or am in Sigma-13, all I see the GMG doing is squatting around Naha slapping Cardamine smugglers and pirates who get within 5k of said base.
On only one occasion have I seen GMG out of Sigma-13...
During an event.
Mind you, I'm not in there too often, but when I am, that's what I see.

Honestly, most pirates never ask for 3 millions credits (personally I think my max has been like 1 mil from someone who had ticked me off by running away before). You still realize that even if a pirate takes 3 mil from a trader on one run they still make a profit of well over a milllion credits generally 2mil? (this is going off you numbers of profit per run) Also, regarding the "most priates in old earth naval terms weren't rich"...in Disco you kind of need to be rich to pirate considering the transports most traders use (max lvl shields, mark vii armor upgrade, all transport turrets lvl 4). It takes a good ship with high strength weapons to convince one of those traders that its worth it to stop rather than run away.
(If the above paragraph is just a jumble of nonsense I blame my headache and fever)
I think a trader saying "kill me now" is obviously not the correct thing to say. thats about all I have to say on that topic.
As someone brought up sigma 13 I feel obligated to go on a little rant
[Rant] Sigma 13 is home to the most oorp pirates I've ever seen in this game 80% of them just say "3m now" and start shooting you. You can't talk to them at all they just repeat "3m now" and if your on a zoner trader they add the word "donate" I've seen liberty rouges and lane hacks pirating there, I've seen outcasts side by side with Corsairs pirating there, I see corsairs taxing zoners constantly in sigma no matter what someone says they just say "donate 3m or die" sigma 13 is the the home to the mouth breathing population of the server and should be avoided it's comical how stupid the pirates are in that system[/rant]
I believe a separate forum for Sigma-13 rants would be in order:)
Other than that, if traders dropped most of their cargo upon destruction, the problem is solved. The pirates can happily blow them up and tractor all the loot.
The drop rates are rather low now, which is the problem why Pirates don't like blowing traders up when they refuse. Sometimes the loot doesn't even pay your repair costs.

Yup. Blame yourself for not having escorts or going into pirate-populated areas. Or blame your local police / military. Because pirates are "unfair" - they are mean, and will always be. They are bad. Evil. Dangerous, in any shape or form. You can fight them, bribe them or avoid them.
But telling pirates how unfair they are - might work in some cases, since people play bad guys but aren't really bad for real. But the rest will just ignore it or pirate you even more.
