I don't want to be involved in the PvP disaster of a war that's about to start. I just think Rheinland deserves more than just a beating from 3 dozen Liberty Navy ships.

I don't hate unofficial factions. I hate unneeded ones. We already have [LN], =LSF=, and LPI-, but then people take it a step further and made the [1st], [NGS] and CF72-.

Is it necessary to put a tag on the name of your ship? Operate under the [LN] or something, it's not that hard.
Hell, just make an indy that prefers his bomber over his cap. Get people to follow your example, not just join another faction.

Alright. Explain how an Osiris relates to land based combat. How can you even roleplay that when your enemy is in a ship in space above where you're attacking?

I'd roleplay that the Osiris has internally mounted OGM (Orbit to Ground Missile) systems, I'd hazard a guess that all Battleships have some sort of battle support that can at least level a base on a planet surface, nothing more.

EDIT: Kurosora, what is the problem? I can't see one. It seems you see factions in black and white. Either they're official or independents. There is a gray area...

If someone can explain to me why we need another faction for every little thing, I'll leave. For every new faction tag I see, I facepalm.

I'd roleplay that the Osiris has internally mounted OGM (Orbit to Ground Missile) systems, I'd hazard a guess that all Battleships have some sort of battle support that can at least level a base on a planet surface, nothing more.

There really isn't much you can do about that, and it's typically frowned upon to camp a planet and launch missiles at it all day. Not to mention it's metagaming in the sense that the other player can't prevent the bombing from happening.
