Maybe its not I just dont know.

aerelm has been making strides on this quite a bit but the core Freelancer game engine wasn't written with big ships in mind, it'll never be "perfect" or fully fixed but efforts are being made.

It stinks like a badly tuned PID controller to me, or rather not tuned for the larger ships. Not sure how fixable that is without someone brave enough to go crawling through the exe itself.

With all the new models in the game, I'd do two things:

- Ship Sale Representation
Adding spaceborn landing pads to all stations and mooring fixtures that offer ships and have each ship model sold by the respective solar be visible from outside, with civilian tech marked as FOR SALE via name ID
That should be especially interesting for Renzu and Ceres, but also for Zoner ships up to the Conference

- House Diplomacy Representation
All five house homeworlds have stations in their orbits and some of them have the trading ships of other houses in front of them. Depending on whether a house is at war with another house, it should be there or not.

And I'd give New Tokyo's orbit some decoration. New Berlin has the glorious Ring, Manhattan has Trenton, New London has multiple PoBs around it but New Tokyo is just super naked, just like the entire system.

There is an interspace station right infront of New Tokyo. POBs that are not placed well can look pretty bad. And Bretonia? You mean Pobtonia.

and winner of the most wrong opinion of the year goes to

you couldve picked specific examples of vanilla design, instead you blanket all of it, despite there being some extremely well done designs across the game

whenever devs touch vanilla systems they manage to make them even worse than before. as opposed to bland we get overcrowded, visually noisy systems with everything slanted at a 20 degree angle with massive lanes/cruises of no interest, just set pieces no one pays attention to besides the person who makes them. some set pieces are nice, but most were made by other people who are no longer here
