That'd be a problem, since it's been a rather long time since I've played either... I'd have to relearn them both to do as such.

Either way, I think I've leaned enough to one direction, now. However, I won't tell just yet to keep the neutrality of my involvement as uh... Neutral as possible. o.O

Keep 'em coming.

Well then , ill leave my mature neutrality.:P

Seriously , here in my school its like everyone and their mom can play the guitar. I mean , its cool and all , but turning on each corner and hearing the plonks of a guitar gets annoying after a while. So , get some drums, at least you would be unique. Plus , their are some preety kick ass drummers out there.

I play <Insert every imaginable stringed instrument here> With more or less skill than average player. My favourite thusfar is bass, but that's not on your list.

I have <strike>absolutely no</strike> very little knowledge of the percussion instruments... But I'd still say you play the drums like 75% of the posters here.

The question is: what kind of drum?

Rock?

Bass?

Hell, "Cosmic"?

The list goes on....

There's a LOT of consideration that goes into buying a set of drums, as far as I know.

ok

I play both and while the drums for me is esier the electic guitar has givin me more satasfaction. I play it more often than the drums so I guess I like it better. :)

Btw if you get a guitar do not get an aston.
And if you get a drum kit I recomend a Tama (more rock style)

A mini fridge in your basement is more important than your base guitarist. I vote guitar, simply because there's nothing more awsome than a finger-bleeding guitar solo.

Go for the guitar. If you really wanna hit stuff, just do a Pete Townsend on your amps!

Yea, anyone can beat a drum too.

Its the skill and passion behind both instruments that make you good. I have played guitar for ten years and drums for three. I love both, but I am defiantly a guitarist.

I suggest guitar because you can impress your friends on the go, and you have a lot more music styles available to you in my opinion. It can be harder to learn, but I learn most of my new stuff from YouTube now days.

Also, if you get really into guitar, it can be just as unportable as a drum kit. I have a 210W twin speaker amp, PA system, two guitars, effects panel and a big bag of cables I need to lug around.

EDIT: Everyone is saying "Everyone is playing guitar now days" That is not true. Besides, why does it matter?

play the guitar. Anyone can play it, but not everyone plays it well !

Try different sounds. There's just so much you can do with it. Even develop your own signature sound/style.:D
