No one said it isnt GMG controlled space, that is rather evident, but it cannot be a non-Kusari system either.
Not until the necessary mediations (and possibly ingame chages previously discussed) are set up and dealt with, at least, my in-rp response was a sort of start attempt..
In fact, see the infocard, it says "Kusari" not "Indipendent".
It's main access is through Honshu, it's between Honshu and Nagano (and then tohoku...) and it have a Kusari-like name, unlike Sigmas, and inside there are Kusarians people but both indipendent and not, with shared interests maybe but with all kind of different ties, so it's a..Kusari system controlled by GMG? Maybe just a semantic issue...
Lo
I think the misunderstanding was caused by the system name and the connection to Honshu via TL and JG.
The techical and oorp solution would be to connect it to Kusari only via Jh and rename the system into Sigma 21 maybe.
In terms of rp i can only say Kusari and GMG are very dependent to each other. Samura is not able to supply Kusari with the amount of H-Fuel the house needs and GMG cannot transport the H-Fuel into Liberty without transit permission by Kusari government. Rheinland would never order anything from GMG and Bretonia is on the other side of Kusari.
The next point which buggers me is IC. What IC has to do with Okinawa? Sorry, but GMG worker have the same cultural background as Kusari citizens. Rather GMG would make a treaty with Kusari government and Kishiro for the development of this certain system than calling for "cultural barbarians" to jump in.
The history. GMG has defeated Rhineland with financial support by Kusari and GMG had to repay it via extra taxes. GMG did not like and started to train Blood Dragons in nebula fight tactics, but very secretly. Then GMG had contact with Outcast and Corsair and both are a threat, 80 year war is a childrens birthday party compared to.
Now comes the treaty for example: Okinawa is sovereign territory of GMG, but KNF and KSP can fulfil patrol duties within the system to fight the criminals and it is recommended to GMG not to interfere with, because in the countermove KNF supports GMG in the fight against Outcasts and probably/will come to aid, if GMG ships and stations are attacked by Corsairs. Hogosha-Corsair relations have nothing to with as well as Outcast-GC -> GC-Blood Dragon relations. The whole thing is only to ensure the supply of Kusari with H-Fuel and on the other side a safe profit for GMG.
owkey, this discussion is just absurd. Everyone only looks with a very narrow vision, seeing the side of the story that makes their faction become victorious. Don't forget people we are still in beta trial, so if needed some things can change. But right now, in my opinion all RP done in beta should be done according to the info cards we have right now, once we come out of beta we could begin making changes that effect the game (RP wise).
Also about the fact of how the war could end, that is something no one can predict, there are simply to many factors to count in. Since i have allot of time i'll post some of those factors in here, according to factions.
First off all don't forget that whatever happens to the GMG, effects the whole of sirius, as they are the main providers of fuel. I think everyone can imagine what would happen if there starts a war in the middle east between 2 oil producing country's. The fuel prices will skyrocket faster then the rockets used in the conflict. that said, lets see what factors i can come up with.
GMG
1) the GMG will be completely shut off from supplies coming from kusari. Rheinland officials see this as a good opportunity to take revenge on the GMG for the 80 year war, and also cut off supplies to the sigmas. With food stocks decreasing rapidly, as well as medical supplies and ship building resources, the GMG won't be able to stand their ground against kusari for long
2) unlike the above situation, rheinland sees this as an opportunity to get an advantage over liberty, they offer the GMG supplies, and in return they would like sole control over the H-fuel trade. The GMG knows that without supplies they are doomed, so most likely they will accept, even though they hate rheinland. In this situation the war will last for a very long time, mainly causing the KNF to loose allot of ships and manpower.
kusari
1) (with GMG 1) Kusari emerges victorious in after only a very short time, and this will give them access to the rich resource field of the sigma's. With the help and funding of IC, samura can begin mining operations in the gas clouds and soon kusari has control over all the fuel
2)(with GMG 2) KNF is getting weaker by the day, fighting on two fronts. Meanwhile bretonia can use the momentum gained by the fact that the KNF is getting weaker and starts to advance. After a few months, maybe less, all captured systems are back in BAF control, and as a reprisal to the assault of kusari, BAF pushes forward toward the core systems of the kusari house.
Liberty
1) Being cut off from there fuel, liberty decides to decrease its actions in the war against rheinland, to conserve as much fuel as possible. The libertonian economy takes a serious beating, and several smaller companies most likely go bankrupt. In this state, liberty is an easy pray for the RM, who now has the advantage over liberty, as it still has access to fuel to power its fleets and industry.
2) Liberty knows what would happen to them in situation 1, they decide to force kusari's hand, by any means necessary. (Mind that Liberty according to the info cards is the only house who's military should be able to take on 2 houses at the same time) they pull back from rheinland to a position they can easily defend. Meanwhile, a surprise attack is launched at kusari(like pearl harbour). With KNF's forces already spread across 2 fronts, the opening of a 3e front is to much for the KNF to do something against. most likely they will pull back to make their last stand in New Tokyo, where they will face the combined might of the liberty and bretonian navy. (the GMG is only interested in it's own territory's, not in gaining extra ones.). Kusari is overrun and both liberty and bretonia come out of this conflict stronger than ever.
These are but a few examples, i can give allot more but i think you get my point. There are to much ifs and buts to really predict the outcome, as the whole of sirius must be taken into account in this conflict.
now i only have one more thing to say. THINK BEFORE YOU POST. In the end this is still a game, this forum serves as a means for all the players to communicate with each other, use it and it will make everyone allot happier.
As for emperor Kogen, who supports you as emperor? is this in conjunction with the several Kusari factions, or did you just say:"i want to be emperor, and everyone needs to listen"? cause right now, that isn't really clear to me.
I have no clue how this topic keeps coming back to predicting outcomes of a war, that should be put in another thread.
I would like to point out that it is Kishiro who is currently the in-house distributor of HFuel. Cutting off supplies to Liberty and Kusari cuts off one of Kishiro's, and by extension, one of Kusari's sources of income. I firmly believe the gate to Honshu is mutually beneficial in this respect.
As for the name of the system, I would like to know why it is named Okinawa, from a dev. The name means very little in terms of ownership. The infocard stating it is "Kusari" is clearly a contradiction to the fact that there are no KNF/KSP NPC's there, unless you count the Honshu gate. The devs clearly intended it to be not Kusari.
Of course Okinawa could eventually become a Kusari system, if the Roleplay leads to this outcome. But prior to Kusari's sudden claim in a transmission to a military officer, it's clear that it was not part of Kusari.
I was also surprised to find that Interspace Commerce had a presence in the system. Dab about summed it up:
' Wrote:The money issue is also very true. That is the whole reason Interspace is in Okinawa.. They are the ones with the available money to get these operations off the ground, and is why they are going to make a ton of cash off this.
Don't forget, the GMG are descendants of Kusari, but their culture is not identical. They are much more willing to contract foreign corporations. The GMG is by no means obligated to cash out a giant loan from the Kusari empire. This is also speculation, but I am sure they do not want Kusari's eyes on where their profits are spent.
I am getting a bit tired of this whole "We are Kusari but we are not Kusari" thing. Look, you dont get to say, "We are kusari" so we will have a JG and TL in Honshu, and the Kusari Government will give us Prisoners of War to work for us, "but we arent Kusari" So we dont need to let them into the system, or care what they say. Time to pick a horse, because IN-RP this whole attitude leads to Kusari aggressiveness.
Edit: You dont get to get all sorts of great things from Kusari, TL, JG, Security, while telling them to screw off.
I said descendants of Kusari (particularly Honshu, see status), not Kusari... if I am completely wrong in thinking this, I'd like to see solid evidence against it.
The lane and gate in Honshu are economically mutually beneficial to both the GMG and Kusari. Do you believe me, or not?
And if we didn't care about what the emperor has to say, then we'd have rolled over when he said Okinawa was in Kusari. We obviously do care. Telling you to screw off? Not quite. In fact I don't think we'd mind patrols as long as Kusari recognizes' GMG's sovereignty over the system. I can't really speak for the leaders on this one.
That's about all I have time to say in response to that.
No, I really dont agree that the Okinawa>Honshu JG and the Tradelanes are beneficial for both the GMG and Kusari. It is awesome for the GMG, but aside from making GMG's operations easier, I dont see how it is somehow greatly beneficial for Kusari, defiantly not beneficial enough to justify such a significant threat to Kusari security.
Edit: Your screenshot from the last post just illustrates my point, why would the Kusari put so much, and risk so much for people who arent Kusari anymore?
I think part of the problem here is that Okinawa's backstory is not well defined. Without a clear history to refer to, the current state of Okinawa is confusing and in flux. I think a good first step is to come together to work out Okinawa's history first, *then* talk about this current situation.
It is a mutually beneficial relationship Jien, by making GMG Operations easier, it means lower price and more H-Fuel for Kusari and its corporations to make money off of (Samura selling to the Libertonians) if they did not have the lanes, the prices would spike for both Kusari's and Liberty's government.
But this is all a Biased Kruger players view
