To mark today being the day, I'm going to share a glossary of internal CDI slang and acronyms that's built up over the past few months:

• ABC: Assume nothing, Believe no-one, Challenge everything
  
• Badger Bus: Clydesdale armoured shuttle, usually ex-Bowex.
  
• Blues and Twos: Sirens and police lights.
  
• BONGO: Books On Never Goes Out - pejorative for admin staff.
  
• Chins: Chief Inspector - pejorative used by constables; implication that senior officers are fat and don't get out.
  
• COCS: Central Orders Cascade System - message dump / reporting system.
  
• Croyton Rolex: A court-mandated tracking tag for antisocial behaviour.
  
• Kevin: A horrible little rat man from maintenance.
  
• Landshark: Police dog.
  
• Lids: Uniformed officers wearing constable helmets. Pejorative used by inspectors.
  
• Panda Cars: Cavalier patrol ships.
  
• The Park: BPA Parkhurst, a prison station near Sprague.
  
• PLOD: Police Logistics Office Database. HR and intelligence system.
  
• PLOPS: Police Lane Operational Patrol System - TLAGSNET.
  
• Ratwagon: HMC Wensleydale
  
• SC: Special Constable.
