In a roleplay event, on a roleplay server, roleplaying to get yourself a commodity to roleplay with is good.
Complaining about this is comical.
The whole fact that you have 3 items:
Rum - Sirius Wide, NPC purchasable
Vodka - Sirius Wide, NPC purchasable
Shikekaki - Morioka only (& GC PoB), GC Faction RP purchase only
These are the disparities between said items. These differences, like common sense, seem to elude a lot of people.
On the other hand, replacing Shikekaki with Sake, which is Sirius Wide, NPC purchasable would fit and create a nice little preamble for a 2nd event, RP focused:
- Shikekaki
- Cardamine Consumer Goods
- Nox Consumer Goods
All these 3 would be RP purchase from Players or PoBs. This would fit without any differences.
All 3 are contraband, require player manufacture and RP - since their equivalent in corsair space are relics (ugh) and in Coalition - none (to preserve the current event parallel)
Also, Cardamine would revive OCs, Taus and upper Omicrons.
Nox would Revive Gallia.
But meh. Its easier for the understaffed team to work and fix something that can be fixed from text.
I tried being entirely constructive, but failed. This is Discovery. What do you expect?
Parallels this, parallels that, useless information everywhere.
If you want to break it down properly as to why this is the choice, then maybe you should observe the one reason all these goods, in the context of the event, are the same:
Corsairs *produce* rum
Coalitioners *produce* Vodka
Golden Crysanthemums *produce* Shigeakiki
You want to change the GC-produced good to something Kusari-produced to make it easier. That would make the event not-aligned with its intended purpose, the spreading of unlawful-produced booze in the spirit of their celebrations.
Let's say I want to make a "mixer" of rum (let's say, 3:1 ratio, 3-parts black iced tea, 1-part rum).
Rather than giving out straight rum, could I trade someone a 3:1 tea:rum ratio of 9 units tea, 3 units rum, 1 unit water (iced tea, babyy!) for a total of 13 units of the resulting "mixed" rum concoction? Might have more people willing to accept a mixed drink, as I've already (first delivery attempt) bumped into the "Oh, I'm not a rum gal" type of issue.
Like does it HAVE to be 10 units rum/vodka/shigeakiki, full-stop?
Do I have to give someone 30 units of tea, 10 units rum, 3 units water if I wanted to go the mixer-cocktail route? (geez that's like enough backyard iced rum-tea for a whole capital ship crew ;-; )
TL;DR can I do a mixed ratio of Rum+Tea=10+ units of cargo? Example: 3 rum, 9 tea, 1 water (ice)?
A lot more people might be willing to pause and accept rum/vodka/shigeakiki to toast their ancestors surviving the Sleeper Ship trek, if their drink doesn't cause inebriation at the wheel of a ship, lol
