If the grass is to tall then it suffocates the underlying root. Short clippings are fine to leave behind when decomposing they serve as food for the roots.

Tenacity, did you try to interact with these people, even to politely direct a few of them to the forums to have a gander at best practice and such? If you had even been told, "lol we dun have 2 do that 4 u n00b" at least you would have tried!

That is of course assuming you wished to do something about it, since you've made this thread here complaining about them and got me my +1. Otherwise, i'm sure you would have normally just passed by the situation, taking a deep breath and repeating, "Only a game, Tenacity" over and over to yourself (assuming you call yourself Tenacity... which wouldn't surprise me olol).

All that said, it really saddens me to see your disdain for most of what goes on here mate. You're never, ever, going to get your own way on the server all of the time. Not everyone is suited or even willing to attempt to communicate in a roleplay manner. Until you take note of this and just try to deal with it in a calmer way, i'm afraid i'll be reading more of your posts composed in this manner:
