I've said it before, and I'll say it again... If you think, this will make bombers even better than now, you're wrong. It is very likely that when the bomber is attempting to release the bomb (within 20 seconds or so) THAT IT WILL EXPLODE! THAT'S THE POINT! It would be rare for it to be successful, BUT IF IT IS then it will do a 'good bit of damage'

You guys, still making me chuckle.:D

so your suggesting a "timed" weapon that makes the bomber into a martyr?.... what if you hit that button with misstake during a fight.... Boom you go....

Or thought about the fact that if you just stand still a fighter needs less then 3 seconds to kill you (2 seconds to kill the shield with debs, 1 second to MR and Nuke the hull)

Now... this would degrade bombers into lamers.... its would be the PERFECT lolwut weapon... flying around their allies, then activating their "suecide" and boom goes the frikkin allies... cuz as you makes it sounds... this gun WILL instakill a cap.... and it takes about 10-15 sec for a shield to regen i belive... making it utterly useless if your suecide bomb is to use 20 sec to charge..


i say my "C4-B Hullbreacher Mine" owns your idea as it has some logic to it.... Upping the Armour on a C4-B can make it resistant to TCD/RCD thus bombers aint suecidal when dropping one....

What your suggesting is a weapon thats more of a "C4 planting device" then a bomb..... a bomb is -something- you drop out of a wessel so it can with or without guidance, blow up something....

Maybe we can make a compromise... say a mine with a 10 second delay.... it will only manouver extremely little, maybe 0.33 in "tracking" and 30 m/s.... the mine WILL blow after 10 seconds... meaning it becomes a sort of a bomb

Actually, where did ti ran, that is not an oxymoron. go look at a RL aircraft carrier. in additiont o the fighters, its got flak cannons that actually kill someone. Bombers are fine, its gunboats that need a nerf/effective counter.

Of course it does have 'some' defence. But will never be able defend itself easy with those flacks or anti-air like anti-air cruissers are able.

Besides this is space. Same bombers represents aircrafts, and sub-marine ships sucide bomber rubber boats.

This is a mistake to compare rl with fl to much

Gunboats nerf is crusiers and bombers.

Light/Medium battleships which are [(Liberty Dred, Outcast Battleship, Bretonia BS, Osiris, All BS's that have 12-14 turrets)] They work FINE with solaris.

Its the heavy BS [(Kusari BS, Rhienland BS, Outcast Drednaught, Corsair Drednaught, Zoner Juggernaut, Gallia/Council BS, Liberty Carrier)] with 15-18 turrets and that are large have the problem with solaris.

I believe moljnir was working on fixing that.

Anyways, I liked Tena's old idea of removing snac all together and giving bombers a lot of different torpedo classes,

Nova (high hull damage)
Pulse/Emp (high shield damage)
Intermediate (faster than novas, less hull damage)

You see, in order to drop bombs there has to be some gravity. For now mines are playing the role of bombs and they make much more sense in the space fights, since they have tracking ability. Now, if you're talking about suicide kamikaze style bombers/bombs, I'd like to see something done on that field.

Make them cost like 50 million (to prevent spamming), you can chose which faction they belong to prior to buying it (depending on the base, guard systems maybe?) and they would make a great deal of damage on the capitals. If they manage to reach them, of course, since there would be no re-spawning, one time use only.

I'd pay to get that one...

well i think the Kamikaze bomber sounds assum, but then it better be able to instakill/almost instakill a shieldless Legate/Ranseur (1 000 000 armour is almost average cap armour if you do some math)

Ofcourse, making the "no respawn" funktion might me hard... but you could possibly add a "/restart" function putting you back in a starflier once you blow up??? If some davs can tell if this is possible ill be happy, cuz that would me it an amazing and extremely nice conscept
