Quote:Unselie: Unbalance? Hardly, there are many elements in Discovery that make it still quite difficult, the fact that NPC's use shield batteries and nanobots for example, etc. No, there would still be a great deal of challenge left, as I mentioned, travel times are ridiculous.

Epyon the Bored: Since this is a forum, I will use any and all words I see fit to make my point, even THE VOID word.

Ghost Cat: There has been an addition of something like 63 new star systems in this MOD. Yes there is a discovery element to it but with that many systems it would be nice to get around a little quicker.

commodore: I am picturing commodore a friendless, fat slob of a boy sitting at a computer with no life to speak of that obviously has megalomanical tendancies. Who the hell do you think you are? You tell me to stop because YOU control a part of space that is NOT yours but is public domain? The next time I see you I will scatter your remains all across this MOD's universe kiddo.

I've said it before and I will say it again, there needs to be little speed added to the travel times to make it more about Discovery instead of spending all of my time getting from point A to point B in 2 hours so I can discover C.

Okay, great. The V-word was half of a joke. That last post, it seems to me, came from the mouth of an angry little boy, much like the late Falixx. Look him up. Commodore's been here a lot longer than you, friend, and when it becomes tar-and-feather time, You're a lot higher up on the list than he is (You're higher up than bloody Dab). Watch your mouth.

I think, though, that there need to be another round of empty systems added. All the Omicrons are taken, and some of us need room to spread out.

Eppie, ya almost got it. Falixx was more of a

"go lick urz ballz n00b" kinda guy. But seems like the same idea.

I am a long-absent Supreme Commander, Executive Commander, Grand Admiral, Fleet Admiral, and Captain in the mighty Hellfire Legion. I have returned, and am on an urgent mission from Drake Thastus to return the Legion to its former glory, and to claim the galaxy for its own. Only then will I be able to rest.

RP Story (Still deciding whether or not to finish)

I mean, preserving the integrity of Discovery and all is a worthy cause, but there are some things that are just so commonsense we wonder why they weren't put in the game in the first place. I mean, if one or more actually fixed the capship-spinning problem, plagiarize your life out! (Speaking of which, what was the problem with Dboy's BS mod? It was never specified...)

Since I saw no one respond to this, I'll quickly add....

First, not DBoy's mod. DBoy wrote a simple program that activated it. It was Igiss' genius I believe. Lastly, I hear that it effected NPC movement (though, I never noticed and its not that important anyway.)

Alright, ignoring the flames and other useless information;
Getting from point A to point B is simple. There are a number of new shortcuts added into the mod, just have to look for them. And I don't know what you're doing but I can get anywhere in Sirius in less than 20 minutes, almost. Hell, in an hour, I can almost trade up enough money, transfer the money to a knew char, fly a Starflier to anywhere, buy a fighter, buy an armor upgrade, buy/loot weapons, haggle, and still make to a battle to turn the tide in my favor.;)

If you know what you're doing, traveling doesn't take that long, bud.

well, IMHO, that is really unbalanced...
as far as balancing the mod goes, try making it harder to earn money...

and please don't ever suggest more empty systems....unpopulated, sure, but never just empty...they are a blight on dysco... no star develops without waste.

Thats what I'm working on.. Unfortunately it seems like I'm the only system modder left, unless Nightfall is making a return to it..

NPC are so easy right now, that they have to attack you in 30+ groups to be a threat.
The first time you fight the NPC can be frustrating because of the low level guns a Starflier has. but after that, the NPC are no longer a threat.

What's wrong with the void word? You say it as if it were some kind of bad word or something...
No. There will be no shortcuts. having shortcuts spoils the hugeness feel of the map.
I've played "shortcutted" mods before, and I didn't like any as after a while you already explored the whole map and the discovery element is no longer present.
Also, you don't need two hours to cross Sirius. Only 15 minutes.
Unless you are following the longest routes and fighting every single NPC that comes down your path..

You better calm down...
Get used to it. This is the discovery mod, not the "Super Roadcross nexus ultra speedmod 24/7" server.

15 minutes to cross Sirius is too little. I think it should be 2 hours.
For the npcs to be a threat, they have to use the same loadouts that the players use...and this involves a lot of work...I just had to put my own mod project into ice because of the dozens of loadouts that I was creating, got tired with that...

That what I picture you as, kiddo.

If you flame people, you are REALLY going to be hated.

Sigma 13 is a GMG sistem, we are basicly the NPCs, its the GMG space, you are flying in it, if you decide to just go into SOMEONES space, you had better listen to them. Thye control it, they command others in it, if they do not comply, you are KoS to them.

Void is not liked by us here. Its unbalanced. The mod isnt the "PvP whoring battleship mod", its supposed to be balanced, not a capship/pvp whoring mod like nightstalker. if you want to make this mod unbalanced, get out of my sight.

@Everyone else:

Sorry about this but when he said that he got on my evil side...

While managing current or an addiitional set of systems, the distance between some locations could be even increased in order to add depth and rationalize both traveling and trading stuff.
