Now since I cannot join (it just wouldnt be right), I would like to donate some funds to help you get started. As anyone will tell you, I am allegedely the richest, most greediest player on Disco. Well my greed ends now. And here is how the RP explanation for the fund donation goes.
First, lets not look at it as an all at once donation (even though it will be), but more all the money that your former union earned as employees of Republican Shipping, or hell even RepEx if you want to spin it that way. Just tell me what you need (reasonable amount of course) and I will get it to you so you can get this idea off the ground floor. Also, if you intend on using them, I can also hand over a few Nomad weapons for you (got a ton of those too).

I have been preparing the template for a considerable time and soon we will get it going but we still need numbers. I want to spend some effort on the idea while trying to keep the concept brief.
For the Roleplay adaptation of a donation that is going to be recieved from your side, well we could prepare a proper serie of RP in both your and our message dumps when we are totally active and official. Of course only if the community would not see something wrong with the RP written for it. And we may enhance the RP of it before letting it happen to enable it sit on a more sturdy basis. Leaders of both sides could conduct for such a reconciliation between your company and Unioners in terms of the compensation of our workers who lost their jobs.

For the weapons, my current opinion is to let
* weapons sold on our bases
* civilian weapons
* limited access to Corsair weaponry (which will be discussed with the elders as well in terms of RP)
therefore, we wont be using any kind of nomad material.

I currently have two active characters, a Trader, and a Independent Zoner. Neither in a faction.
If you would allow me i'd like to create a character and join your faction, it's been long overdue that i join one.
I lack RP writing skills but even a old dog can learn new tricks and i have no problems with strict rules.
As for your money problems, I will donate 500mil to start the Faction, it should be enough for now considering that it will be mostly a fighter based Faction.

As far as receiving credits from RepEx, I can envision something like this:
RepEx has some type of falling out with their current bankers, and are transferring their accounts from Planet New Berlin to Planet Holstein. Due to a breach in corporate security, an electronic transfer is highly risky so the decision is made to transfer the funds by means of actual cash (credit cards) on board a non-descript RepEx ship. A Unioner informant in RepEx obtains the id and itinerary of the fund transfer transport and informs Unioner command. A Unioner fighter wing ambushes the RepEx transport, and after nearly destroying it, the pilot jettisons the credits in order to save his life (since actually destroying the ship will likely destroy at least some of that very valuable cargo).
Thus the Unioner's receive a "donation" from RepEx, and also create an ongoing revenge/vendetta storyline between RepEx and the Unioners.
So in other words, the Unioners pull off a major league "bank" robbery in space.

Any contribution is welcome here since, it wont be that easy to find volunteers at this stage. So I would not want to miss any opportunity of getting support. You can count yourself in. It seems that the money issue wont be a problem for the beginning since Repex is already willing to donate some amount of money which will be discussed and I can promise you it will be a reasonable amount because Unioners/we are not meant to start a giant sized faction. For the RP writing skills, I can say that I am not either a master in doing that so, yet the only thing while posting in our dump will be about restricting some stuff such as obeying a pre-defined scheme for replying and of course staying totally bound to RP. Non RP related posts will not be allowed. I am trying to provide our rp posting scheme soon and also working on some details.

Your story seems to be written from a different point of view, since it cant be considered as a donation. Sounds interesting, we may see which rp fits the best in time and decide accordingly.

After the 80 years war, money got tight for Rheinland and Republican Shipping, so they started pulling benefits from those employees. A group of those unionized employees became hostile and formed the Unioners. Now, I dont see Republican or RepEx giving those employees "severence" or any compensation for that matter. The only way I see it working would be that the employees had saved that money to form their group.
So what I am proposing is that I (RepEx) give them a certain amount of money. And that money is RPed as the money they had earned over time from our company that they saved up.
Although now that I think about it, the extortion plot sounds a little more interesting. I would think it would be more of an inside job that doesnt involve blowing up any ships. Kind of like the embezzlement schemes you see in RL today. I think that would actually work best. Kress, you and I should work on that RP.
Also, if you need anything to get this started just ask myself or P Funk. Dont expect our generosity to last too long though.;)

Well, yeah the embezzlement could be the main base of our RP to build the credits transfer on. I will definitely need some help for the writing of the complete RP so please feel free anytime to send me a PM with what you have in your mind.
I suppose our flagship will be a cruiser so we wont really need a big amount of cash for the beginning and you can send the amount in your mind by a PM for discussing it and when we reach to a point, we would add these details as well to the RP post of the credits transfer.
Lastly, to add.. well in fact we are still trying to decide what name to pick. We have 3 names in our mind at the moment which are Unioner Renegades, Renegades of Rheinland, Workers Front. I am still unsure about what name to pick so I would be glad to recieve any kind of opinion or suggestion about a proper name. Just feel free to reply here or send me a PM.
Personally I'd avoid the Renegades of Rheinland just because there are already a few [R] based factions and I already have to think twice at who I'm looking at. I like the Workers Front, gives it a nice commie sound.:D
Note: Unioners aint Commies. That's SCRA's job. The Unioners started as a leftist union movement, but eventually degenerated into simple piracy with an outdated name.
