Well as some of you all know i LOVE my cap ships!! i have died too many times to count in them and ganked more than i have been in legit battles. Thats the bad side but if you keep doing that over time you create a skill for the huge things and thus pownage!! i have been in many battles on my battleships and killed many its just how you use it. In the end tho if your not gone and the battle is clearly not in your favor your likely hood of getting away and turned to scape is good.
3 of my babies and each have to have a certian technique to survive. Rather than complain just try to dop what you can with what you got, I did.
Iam not sayin iam the best in a Battleship but better than most but it takes practice and that mean trail and error. So in short you have to die alot to really know what up so once your cool with blowin up ( explosions are awsome btw) you'll LOVE Em'.

Bombers are supposed to destroy capital ships.. And it is not that easy to destroy a battleship with 2 bombers unless the bombers are really good pilots.. But I think faction flagships deserve a buff.. Maybe they should have 5xhull ie a 20x armor upgrade.. Which would be something you dont want to come against unless you have some really good firepower..

Not a bad idea in and of itself. However the hull and armor multipliers don't need to be quite that beefy. I'd say give the faction one set of cap armor 6X, instead of the standard 4X (CAU 8) they receive. It's enough of an armor multiplier to make a difference without having more ill will and envy heaped on factions.
Back to the OP's original thoughts...
Capships, and BSes in particular, will not be buffed up. And they probably wouldn't be buffed even if they were restricted. It's ultimately a question of balance that's already been alluded to: one player piloting a BS killing players in smaller craft with relatively ease would not be desirable. The result would be more players moving to bigger vessels, which would somehow ruin some players' sense of RP immersion. Because it's not "realistic" to have the majority of players in capships.
What I find interesting in that point view is the fact that NPCs are completely discounted. You could basically have everyone fly a capship, a BS even, and it would still be reasonbly "realistic" because of the NPC presence. 200 capships spread out all over Sirius would be quite believable.

Just because it doesn't make sense to you, doesn't mean it doesn't make sense at all. It just means you're looking at it from a closed one point perspective.
Torpedoes are traditionally long range weapons, like the ones used by Submarines to blow up Naval Ships without having to get in range of their depth charges. That explains the SNAC's 3k range.
As for the Solaris, they are point defense weapons designed for protecting the immediate area around the ship from danger, they are not assault weapons. Even if they did have 3k range, how many bombers do you know that fly in one direction for more than a second while fighting a cap? You're still not gonna hit an evasive bomber, who will in all likelyhood simply change their strategy to sit 3.3k away from a capital ship and only come into range when they're ready to fire. So why waste all that energy efficency to accomplish nothing?

Where all that fear about caps came from?
Make capital cruise engine charge time = 30 seconds. Undisreputable. Capital is slow, even a cruiser can thrust from bs without a problem, but bs can't.
Nerf cruise charge time, buff solaris, give more flaks and buff fire power and ranges. That will be mobile heavy armored platform for various weapons.
P.S. If you not took damage = you not engaged, VHF can just thrust away from bs and change a spot for pirating.
