[color=#66FFFF]... Hmmm... First contact with a new alien race... an' from the looks o' it thar' more advanced than us. A potentially-dangerous situation fer both sides... Since thar' intentions still be vague, an' the Captain be unwillin' te reveal much about their mission this'll be a dicey transaction... but why all the mystery...?

... Such may entail that he be after somethin' sinister, cause if he do be on a mission that be o' peaceful intent, he'd normally be more than willin' te tell us his full plan... yet this doesn't seem so... Maybe it's just out o' fear that he be vague... maybe a simple case o' suspicion on us... te gauge our reactions...

... But even so... this... doesn't feel right... Harvestin'?... Expansion?... Construction?... Those be mighty-risky words fer a first-encounter... With goals like those, who knows what they be truly plannin'? Are they a race that be desperate fer supplies an' raw materials? Such would make them even more dangerous, what with all the fightin' goin' on... an' Sirius be NOT in the state fer a new... er... problem te show up...

... He did say he's just the scoutin' party, so it's bound more like him will come... How many warships? How many pilots? How many armed military soldiers, scientists, commoners? What'll they be bringin'? What'll their first action be?

... Urgh... all o' this be churnin' me gut... not good fer a man o' my age, heheheh... I guess I'll start with the reason o' why I'm here in the first place...

Katarn looked back again at the monitor and began, "... Well... first off... What do I call ye an' yer people, Captain? You should at least have the decency te give me a label te call yer lot, eh...?

"An' second... As I said a while back, the real reason that I an'..." He looked towards Samantha's ship for a brief moment, "... an' the lass over thar'... be here is that we be on a search-an'-rescue operation in search o' the ZCV-Altor... Ye said before that ye met this ship... Care te tell us what exactly happened te the Altor?"

A small warning light flashed, as the Andromeda sent out a signal. It fed through the neural net, gathering each and every piece of information and news it could pry from unencripted locations, before stopping again. The magistrate made no mention of it, however.

~~~KATARN. SCANNERS HAVE PICKED UP AN INTELLIGENCE-GATHERING SIGNAL EMANATING FROM THE VESSEL ANDROMEDA. UNFORTUNATELY, SIGNAL ISN'T OF RECOGNIZABLE BANDWIDTH TO REGISTER IN CONVENTIONAL SCANNERS, AND IS UNABLE TO PINPOINT EXACT INTEL BEING GATHERED~~~

After a brief pause Katarn sighs to himself and continues, "... If ye say ye be the scoutin' party fer yer expedition... then what should we be expectin' an' be expected te do when yer people arrive at our very doorstep?"

Katarn continues as if talking to himself, "... An' unfortunately, I be not o' particularly-high rank te be... a noteworthy-representative o' the human race... I could try te contact a few key officials in the higher-ups, most notably the Zoners... though they be currently scattered, so that be o' not much good... An' there be a possible chance that the House Colonies be thinkin' outright te exterminate ye te 'keep the peace'..."

Suddenly, the old veteran gets a eureka-moment, "AH! I don't suppose ye'd like te meet the Outcast Dons here in this system, eh? They look like te be the most... stable o' people te handle news like this... An' this be their system anyway, so it'd be proper te go greet them first...

"What do ye say, Captain?"
