Valeri if you're not in the faction...leave people to answer for themselves.
I never had an issue with phantoms. Since my time here I had encounters with 6 of them. The best one I had resulted in me dying. Others were either filled with rp or it were really poor presented. So I understand the part of community that puts that in the feedback. Unfortunately when I gave feedback they got pissy about it, what really bugged me is that behavior and nothing else.
Quote:Perfect example: Something a dude did one year ago that cost him a whole month of adminship removal and continued surveillance of his adminship behaviour as well as repercussions made on the players that participated in said event. ONE YEAR AGO. You frickin' kidding me? To bring something up that happened ONE YEAR AGO?
We're the community that point out old mistakes. I'm sure fair share of people have something against you or me which they will remember even after 5 years.
to get on topic as I've seen this have turned into another Phantom feedback thread.
Why don't you do it inRP ? Send comms to unlawful factions you want to work with ? I don't see why would any faction now go....oh yes let's cooperate. This kind of oorp things that CAN be done inRP...I don't see reason for it.
My suggestion, start RP-ing with them...on comm channel if you can't find them online or such. There are ways.
So, it's okay for a non-faction member to bash them. (Used for my argument, before you jump the gun and conclude that it was directed at you personally.)
But if I put forth arguments from my perspective that are of positive nature. It suddenly is turned to "let them answer for themselves"?
I don't answer for them. I answer ABOUT them.
I'm ready to argue this for pages if you want. 'Cus I find that ridiculous.
Learn the difference. And yes, taking up something that happened one year ago and has already been solved in every single way. The person apologized, the person received punishment for his deeds. What more do you want to talk about that particular instance?

wut ?
Only thing is that I'm saying..you didn't gave any explanation you're just pissed on people who dislike them. Which I don't. So I'm not bashing anybody.
I gave my advice that rp approach is much better if you ask me. Nothing more. And I stated what were my past encounters with phantoms, and I still stay behind I had great experience and a poor one. Which I can say for almost every faction.
I don't even know what happened nor do I hold any grudges, I couldn't less give a damn. I'm saying to you people are like that.

I gave plenty of explanation. Every repetitive argument I have heard for the past years I made a comment on. Did you even read my post? Heck yeah I was pissed on people for dragging the same arguments without even looking at the solutions they have brought. And I'm just as much allowed to point that out as anyone else is allowed to come to this thread, and bring those age-old arguments back to life, for another round of week. Arguing for the sake of arguing. Not for the sake of finding solutions, that is what I feel about this situation.
Sure, you are allowed to complain.
Sure, you are allowed to criticise and question the integrity of a faction.
But man, that ain't the same as constantly bickering to them about things they actually have solved.
I wouldn't last a week in that faction considering how much applied frustration people induce them with on a daily basis, just for the sake of it.

No you can defend them and all. And give positive comments, sure. I'm not against it. What I wanted to say some questions can only be answered by their members. Nothing more.
I agree, there is constant bickering about things that are solved and explained, but as their getting feedback that is repeatedly same, there is obvious some kind of problem... and I hope it's not oorp one, cause then it's pointless to argue.
I can say one thing I concluded from everything, either they didn't solve the problems since people are still complaining from page 5 till 50. Or people just hold oorp grudge cause they can't be in phantoms or such.
They have their story, lore, rp...not a problem. Thing is..and I really don't bring this up with disrespect , it's just my comment as player. They created a lore which made them strong, deadly, fearful and similar. They created something new in FL universe and imposed it to community. I do enjoy my encounters with phantoms, my different character have a different reaction. So do theirs. They are damn good roleplayers, and I can back it up with evidence. Just..community doesn't like imposed thing, you can't put something new into FL and expect everyone will behave the way you want them.
So one more time for the Phantoms....my suggestion is to RP it out with unlawful factions. There is not really "Can we work this out ?" " Yes, we can we will fear you" solution.
I'm already prolonging this comment as it is..so have a nice day and everything.
' Wrote:@ Jameson: I would like to see one thing from the Outcasts, though. I know it was confusing and frustrating me when I was leading the Phantoms and if BaconSoda cares at all it might bother him.... Can you come up with a way to respond to us that is... at least somewhat consistent? One day we're welcomed as heroes and dock on Malta no problems. The next day when we launch we get fired on for desecrating Outcast lands.... or something. One kind of diplomacy so Phantom dudes know what to do would be nice and less confusing.
Well, the whole thing started when Gentle decided to pay a visit to Malta in his rather... cough... impressive Corsair Dreadnought. As you might imagine, we have no real love for Corsairs who still feel such a strong sense of affiliation to their faction, and that lack of love is only amplified if said Corsair acts like he owns the place.
On that note I can say that the Phantoms also run... hot and cold when it comes to interaction with the Outcasts; Some come and act fairly, while others loiter outside of Malta and insult our pilots.
The disagreement stemming from the old Phantom Sabres with Krakens has been resolved though, and it was only a problem in the first place because I'm an RP purist and Del was being a twat about the issue, stating that, and I quote: "It is not your place to change things which has been set in place for longer than you have been here, Jameson." And such arguments piss me off because roleplay is not stagnant, and it's downright disrespectful, but I digress.
How an Outcast responds to a Phantom varies on the individual; Just as some Outcasts may love or hate a Nomad, an Outcast may indeed love or hate a Phantom. As for the 101st... we're wary of you since you have a lot of Corsairs in your ranks, and those Corsairs make no effort of cutting the ties to their beloved Empire, unlike the few Outcast Phantoms you have had...

Well, the issue with that lately has been the difficulty in finding factions that even might be willing to talk to us. We could send out a missive to every faction in Discovery, but in the end we're wasting our time with 70% of it. But your point is still valid. I think one of the goals of this thread is to figure out if there are any faction leaders out there who are even willing to take us seriously... because on this side of things, it seems damn near everyone is out to get us... Which is understandable.

I was not aware of either of these situations. The joys of being a faction leader.

I don't get why everyone is crying about that Slipstream or that other Ship. Vayrag is not the only one.
Well, there's dying on an either inhabitable or hostile planet, or dying with dignity to the guns that rightfully killed you.
Crashing into a planet simply to deny someone a kill is simply an attempt to protect one's massive sense of pride, and then upset everyone in the process.
Yeah, I know: Phantoms get ganked. Everyone gets ganked. We should all learn just to take the loss by the gun and be done with it.
<strike>Especially me. >_></strike>
A way a lone a last a loved a long the riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay,
brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs.
Thank you very much for posting this up. First of all, it's helped me actually understand your roleplay better. I've run into your faction multiple times, and I've never been able to figure out what you've been about other than killing things.
Used to be that I really was bugged about y'all ganking folks. I mean, seriously, I hated it. That was my own problem, though, and I've since gotten over it.
Only problem I still have with you guys is the quality of your roleplay. I understand if you're all brainwashed, but I have only ever seen one Phantom roleplaying in any way that wasn't exactly like every single other Phantom I've ever met. It's not a matter of your not being brainwashed, it's a matter of you roleplaying that brainwashing well. What I've seen has been fairly generic "evil madman" roleplay, and usually the "common" type. Specifically, I've seen almost exclusively the low-quality type. I'm not saying it's easy; on the contrary, a brainwashed evil madman is one of the most difficult character's to roleplaying realistically. However, that's exactly why the Phantoms are some of the few people who're allowed to do it. Theoretically, you should be better at it than the rest of us.
I've never really been scared by the Phantoms. Your roleplay simply hasn't inspired fear in any of my characters at all. In fact, it's all I, personally, can do to keep my own personal feelings of "this is so corny" from transferring to my character. Again, my own problem.
But please do try to actually inspire fear and show who your characters are while you brutally murder us rather than just shooting us randomly and for apparently no real reason. That's really the only thing I've seen y'all do wrong at all.
