NPCs will NOT be removed at all regardless how hard you cry for it. The only thing that'll be done to them is removing their CD's outside of guard systems and making them generally less annoying.

Remove the damn CDs and,we'll be fine.

I vote for removing npc's which disrupt the lanes...they are so unnecesary...only annoy people and they are not even hard enough to challenge anyone (except starflyers i guess), the lane disruptions should be caused mostly by pirates than annoying npc's who just slow people down..

ALL NPCs are annoying and slow people down, an make you lag and over all make you want to break something. Not just those with CDs, not just those who cut lanes.

Remove all NPCs but leave them in Guard systems, yup.
They ram everyship they see. They ignore every asteroid, unlimited energy and more?

but yes, most frustrating duel...damn NPC's, always when there are, "ruin" all the fun>mine/cd/mine/cd "npclancer"

Where exactly did this fight took place?

I already suggested removing about 70% of the NPCs in certain places before, but people said that it would be too much work for the devs.

I think its less work to remove the most annoying ones in certain places than to fight them over and over again in those places.

So I re-iterate my offer to go through the system maps and remove the worst of them. I just need a green light from the devs, and the system maps of 4.86.

I would systematically do the following:

-Remove all NPCs near a station that is hostile to them.
-Remove all NPCs near a gate that is hostile to them.
-Remove NPCs in large open areas where they dont have a very good reason to be. For example, in Tau 23, remove all Outcasts and IMG and BMM, except the Outcasts near Cali base, IMG near Java, BMM near the gate construction site.
-During the removals, I would make sure that no NPC faction is removed entirely from a system they are in. I would just restrain them to places where one would most likely expect to find them, like near their bases, or for pirates in nebulas an so on.
-I would also remove them in places where they seem "not right". For example I would remove Outcasts distrupting lanes and pirating (asing to drop cargo) in liberty, but not Lanehackers or Rogues.

That should considerably reduce annoyance and server lag to randomly shooting annoying useless NPCs.

I know its a lot of work. Maybe I wont finish all systems, but doing that in the most important systems will already be a significant improvement.

All I need is a green light from the devs or Igiss.

When there are neutral NPCs around, I'm careful with CDs & mines; far too often enough my opponent isn't.
Part of the fabric of the game & occasionally they can turn a fight.
$h!t happens - get over it & fight smart.

Exactly. Again, only about 40% of people actually RP the rest are out to make money or to destroy x, y, z. 90% of the time NPC's don't get in your way, but as said just deal with it. I think they need to make that command suggestion not just for ingame but for the forums as well: /whine

It's not about getting kills, or anything. It's about having fun, Simple as that. NPCs are immensly frustrating.
