Its a shame to fight against having one of the only distinguishing features when it comes to Sirius wide police forces.

Everyone seems to want their faction to be the pinnacle of perfection. These days, its the enlightened few who have got past that urge to cleanse their faction into a Knights Templar that make this game have flavor.

I would like to appeal to the LPI present in this thread to take a good long look at how awesome it is to be unique, corrupt, and shady as opposed to a cardboard cutout of your everyday friendly neighborhood police.

(That being said, ye, its dumb to sell slaves on a prison station with the population of 6000. They should be sold on Houston)

As the resident skype-whore of the official LPI I agree with the above. The fact LPI tries to be superhonest good guys makes me feel kinda sick. Especially when you consider that they are owned by IND. Anything related to the IND has to be corrupt.:P

But really, the corruption part is what makes the LPI special. Without it, it is just another group of good guys.

' Wrote:I'm afraid it is happening. LPI is corporate, which means that they're a corporation, which means they're a business, which means that, well, I ran out of synonyms, but basically they're more worried about profit rather than moral ideology. I suggest you talk to LPI in bars, they will tell you all about how "I kind of feel bad finding out a reason to arrest some hermit on his hill because some rich person wants that land, but hey, Sugarland needs its workers". It's really scary how the LPI works, and I urge you to figure it out through rumours. If you haven't heard them, plenty of civilians complain about how "their only real security is the LPI and Bounty Hunters, so they're usually paid off with bribes".

But lets back up, we're talkin' about the WHOLE prison system here! I don't think Sugarland is exactly promoting/encouraging the selling of slaves, but perhaps it's a 'wink wink, nudge nudge' move where the more violent or less useful slaves that are more trouble than they're worth just happen to disappear for a bargain price. Crisp, crisp profit.

I do not understand. Do we want all the intelligent members of the community to get up and leave, or is this some kind of joke?

LPI is definately corrupt, regardless of what the player faction is. The player faction fits into the actual faction, not the other way around.

The problem with being corrupt to such a public extent lies in the fact that many people shout "corrupt!!" not because they've seen it, but because they themselves as players know this to be true. Of course, people's characters manage to find justifications for it, but that's because information available to the player influences where characters look and how they view things. The slightest questionable action and suddenly everyone in Liberty is corrupt.

So of course, you have people pushing against this. I would actually say that becomming a totally clean organisation and cracking down on this "corruption" is a good thing, and once people stop shouting that stupid word or using it as a reason for this or that, then reintroduce corruption.

Just remember that the best kind of corruption is legal, and the system is already written in a way that's easy to abuse for the forces. But don't abuse it too much or you'll get fired/the law will be changed.
